Been using mate 10 for 2 weeks... Think I am missing tap to wake phone and tap to lock phone features from LG.
Hopefully next version of EMUI can have this...

You’re lagging far behind. Lol

Try using yr knuckle to double tap for screen capture.

Can also do split screen though not all apps are supported.

What do u usually do on yr iphone which u wanna do on yr mate10?

Double tap to lock? Can try dload nova launcher and can put that as gesture. Mentioned by someone here I'm not using it quite nice..

Welcome aboard... Came from an iPhone 6. Previously used the HTC m7 few years back.

Missed the freedom of an android. For apps ringtone or wallpaper can try zedge.

Try get used to the stock interface but if you like to edit more like a.. "jailbroken iPhone" such as having 2 docks instead of 1. Choosing the grid size on home page which can be 8 by 8 etc... Android has it at the tip of the hands..

I also haven't fully set up my phone as there is just too many functions and too lil time for me hahaha

I solved it. Just manually add a card under google.payment.com first on phone.

Took me a while to figure out. Darnzz
Seems like there's a bug which doesn't allow u to add directly via android pay app.

Don't rmber this happened on my previous S8. Was quite easy to add credit card

There is no aptx support on this.

That's right. So I believe because of this, there's intermittent distortion and it's bloody annoying.

The 3 major Chinese brand Xiaomo, OPPO, Huawei basically base on same freeware launcher and modify on top of it. That is why they mostly share similar kind of bugs. Is who will get it fix first.

Problem is same bugs may come back again after some upgrade due to lack of testing.

For model that demand around the same price range like Samsung, Apple. I shall skip as no point to take the risk.

I can give u multiple scenarios where double tap to wake or front sensor is more convenient and much faster too.

1) you are at home or work where the phone is on the table. Notifications came in, double tap to wake phone to see who message, unlock phone using front sensor and reply on the spot without even lifting ur phone. If messages are not important, ignore without waking the screen. Do note the timeout for double tap to wake screen for quick glance is much shorter than waking the phone just to check notifications.


2) your phone is mounted in the car holder and notifications came in. Double tap and see, front sensor unlock without having ur hand awkwardly place to located the back sensor and depending on ur car phone holder, you may not even access to the sensor easily resort to using pin or pattern to unlock

Yeah, double tap to wake and front sensor have their advantages and uses.

It depends on how advance a user you are. I was using iPhone 6s and 7 before switching to a Mate 10 Pro. No issues getting used to it. There are definitely differences between iOS and Android, but it should not take long to get the hang of either OS.

Mate 10 user here. Mo incompatible apps so far...on latest firmware. Maybe you need a factory reset

I agree that the pricing can be better on the Chinese branded phones, but in terms of bugs, no phone maker will ever come out with a flawless phone. For example when you talked about Samsung, I had 2 very bad experience with them when using both Galaxy S2 and S3. The phones intermittently drop signals on both phones, and no fix from Samsung. The bottom line is, as long as the phone don't have a shop stopper for me, I will just buy and use it as long as it is not crazily priced like the iPhone X.

I don't experience any issues with the apps I used. Sometimes it could be the app that is not ready for Android 8.0 Oreo and not because of the phone. It is an inherent problem with the fragmented Android ecosystem.
