2 years warranty vs 1 year warranty, OIS, potential to get P20 Pro kind of night mode, 4GB vs 6GB, 64GB vs 128GB etc etc.

So hard to decide between the two. Headache haha

in this case, can consider mate 10 pro - better cam with OIS and high ram/storage (6/128GB)

Thinking of buying a second hand Mate 10 / Mate 10 Pro. But I've been reading this forumn and there seems to be complaints of bad battery life?

Can anyone point out if it's a matter of manufacturing batch (nov-dec 2017 vs mar-may 2018) or firmware (which firmware is the problematic one?) or specific to one of the two variants (non-pro vs pro).

Would greatly appreciate any help and opinions!

No issue with battery life. I'm on the June firmware and it still last me a full day.

RAM/Storage, go for View 10.

Personally I'll go for View 10 for the higher ram and storage.

In the end went for the Mate 10. Got it with some discount for $543. Local 2 years warranty mocha brown.

Bought and don't think anymore until... If I run out of RAM too often. Storage still not so much a concern for me. Just need to get a MicroSD card in. If 128GB I will just use the internal.

Mate 10 and mate 10 pro both got OIS la. Totally same setup for the 2. Just that local version mate 10 less ram and storage

Nowadays seems like Huawei is focusing on the Honor sub brand to tackle middle level phone.
Like those phone priced at 5xx also using 970 SoC

Welcome aboard... It's quite a good phone. Like it a lot too. I use 2 SIM card so... Anyway 64GB is enough for me.

I feel different people have different usage patterns. I have been using my Mate 10 Pro since last year, but don't have an issue with battery life. Some firmware version will draw more power, resulting in lower battery life, but none critical. For a phone that is more than 6 months old, my Mate 10 Pro can still provide 1.5 or close to 2 days worth of battery life. Normally after a heavy day of usage, I have only seen it drop to 49% minimal by end of day. But do note, I do not game. My usage is always surfing the net, look at shopping apps, reading on Kindle, and listening to music.

It is not easy to run out of ram to be honest. I am not sure if gaming will drain it, but I rarely see my ram deplete by more than 3GB out of the 6 on my Mate 10 Pro. Anyway if you run out of ram, you need to just close some apps.

Does anyone here facing connectivity issue for mobile data? Was playing my game half way and it seems that connection was lost, notice that this happens a few times, and it took quite awhile for me after several tries of switching mobile data on and off before it could work again.

after using for a week for my mate 10.. i must say the battery life isn't that fantastic.. for 4000mah i must say i expect more juice from this beast.. i set 1080p resolution as standard and when batt hits 50% i usually on battery saving mode. With minimal gaming and mostly used on whatsapp, chrome, FB & Spotify, i get about 6 hours SOT.. If i game for an hour or 2, the SOT drops to about 4 hours.

Nah it's not the matter of me closing apps but rather Huawei system chooses which apps to close. Sometimes if play game then not enough RAM when you jump to reply WhatsApp then gg. Switch back to game start from scratch. I need to experiment still with mate 10. Just got it anyway haha.
