really hope for a micro SD expansion or at least give me a choice for 256 or 512. if like p20 pro only 128gb, then might jump over to note 9

I suspect they may offer higher storage capacity, but not the option to use SD card. Chinese phone makers are very good at trying to outdo their international competitors when it comes to specs, i.e. add more cores, more ram, more lens, etc. So storage is likely not far away on their to do list.

I believe I read somewhere that there may not be 5G on the Kirin 980, though that information could be inaccurate.

For me, it is not a deal breaker with the omission of 5G. I actually think the current 4G is good enough for most. I prefer if the network is stable rather than fast. Also, it may sound like it is better to have faster network, but do you really need it? Its like hearing people they need 2Gbps fiber broadband, but when you ask them why they need it, they say play games and stream movies. These activities will not saturate 1Gbps to begin with.

True is true... But when 5G comes out, most phone will still roam on 4G. Then you will be the only few that uses the 5G network. Not just the matter of exclusivity but also having to use less congested network.

For me, Starhub is really bad compared to Singtel. But the weekend unlimited data is still too good. Hard to decide.

I doubt the Kirin 980 will win Exynos 9810. The single core performance from the 960 to 970 didn't improve much with both still getting around 1.8-1.9k for single core score on geekbench. The only real improvement from 960 to 970 was the GPU. But even then the 970 couldn't match the exynos 8895 with only 3/5 of the horsepower (Mali G72MP12 vs Mali G72MP20). The Exynos 9810 got almost 3.7k single core on geekbench and even the Snapdragon 845 only got 2.5k so my guess is that the single core performance of the Kirin 980 could only match the 845 at most and not the Exynos 9810.

The main thing is whether it's smooth

Yeah without Custom core, relying on only Cortex cores, it's unlikely Huawei can go sky rocket in the SOC market. But got leaked benchmark saying the Mate 20 scoring like 350k in Antutu vs 250k of Snapdragon 845. That's a huge jump. Just not sure in which department it jumped score that much.

The problem is it gets badly scratched. Quite different from my past experiences with other glass protector.

My full screen tgsp for mate10pro is from taobao. the quality is excellent - smooth, scratch and fingerprint resistance. the tgsp is easy to apply on the phone.

Hi I am looking to get a 128 gb Mate 10 nonpro but it seems like 128 gb version is not officially carried by our telcos. Where is the cheapest and safest way to buy a 128gb nonpro mate 10 and any reasons against buying a "nonofficial“ phone?

Strange enough, before I sold my previous phone s7 Edge, I did a test with my mate 10 and they were both pretty near in terms of speed..
