1. Yup, with the Mate 20 out I wonder how much longer the Mate 10 will remain on the shelves. I don't really need a new phone now but in the near future a lot of the phones are lacking in one thing or another.

Pocophone's main camera has no OIS, and there's no NFC either. Plus, there's a god-ugly notch.

If Mate 10 is no longer selling, you can choose Mate 20. Its lighter, bigger screen and faster. The notch is quite small. Still have the 3.5 audio jack, FM radio and remote control.

Mate 10 should be on lelong now. If budget allows, should try Mate 20 since faster cpu, better cameras and battery.

Actually no lei. Only a few stores selling it now. I was looking on Carousel for a while. Decided to grab a set at $480 from an ah beng store. Those on Carousel are selling like $550 and $600 @@ very few sets though.

Does the latest EMUI update for Mate 10 feature the new camera interface like on the Huawei P20 Series and Mate20 series?

The new camera interface is the swiping-for-mode interface like this:

While the Mate 10 camera interface is the older one when it just launched, which I believe is during the EMUI 8.0 era but not sure if the latest EMUI update brings the new camera interface to Mate 10..

It's not lighter and it's more expensive.

Not interested in the Mate 20, losing OIS on the main camera means I might as well go with the much cheaper Pocophone F1.

Was browsing the websites of the more well-known stores; both Red White Mobile and Kasia still have the Mate 10 listed. Looks like it's not going to last that much longer on the shelves.

Probably while stock last that kind. TBH, Mate is still pretty much sufficient for most people lah. Me for 1 always get 1 version behind flagship. 970/SD825/SD835 with 4GB (very min) still runs very smooth for most cases. Huawei did a good job a their camera specially for those who want to post to social media.

Just wanted to point out that mate 10's cameras are F1. 6 aperture unless this terminology no more valid on handphone technology. The previous better 1 was F1. 5, I think is a Samsung. Photographers paid premium money for big aperture.

HW pretty much killed regular mate 20 with that many compromises compared to the pro version. There are lesser differences comparing mate 10 and mate 10 pro. In fact p20 pro is actually a better option than the mate 20

Not really and I disagree. Mate 20 still better than P20 Pro in most cases except taking photo with the 40MP sensor and display being LCD instead of oled.

In contrast, Mate 20 has smaller notch, bigger screen (user dependent), more practical ultra wide camera and don't forget the new Kirin 980. CPU performance aside, the new GPU in 980 is quite an improvement although still can't par S845 even but still the improvement is quite big. Kirin 970 clearly cannot make it in games when compared to S845 but at least now 980 put it nearer to competition in raw power.

Well I don't think m20 is that much better than p20p, on top of what you mentioned, the 6gb ram on p20p yield better multitasking. Yes, CPU on m20 is newer and faster but in day to day use, you won't see a big an difference becos p20p is already plenty fast.

Gaming wise, I disagree that Kirin 970 cannot make it as there are many reviews on p20p gaming that show otherwise. With GPU turbo, the gaming performance has also increased. If you are a hardcore gamer, then you should probably look for phones with better cooling as graphic intensive games can heat up the phone and cause throttling.

Still sticking to my M10. The monochrome is better for me than the new wide-angle sensor.

Leica was good for black & white. I have the P9. Nothing beats the B&W. I preferred the P9's B&W over Mate 10's. More punchy.
