Edit: finish updated. The gesture is awesome. Not sure any changes to the camera..previous version also have night mode..didnt see anything new on camera side coz i rarely use camera

I notice the whole thing speed up but not fluid. Tons of things change. Need slowly go through the setting 1 by 1 agn haha. So far so good

Mates here share if there is any protip to make this excellent phone more excellente~

The EMUI 9 update should have the handheld night mode like on the P20 Pro, but if you manage to use the ported Google Camera then can try the Night Sight mode.

Managed to update to EMUI 9. Need to registered Huawei ID first then can see the new update in HiCare app.

I got Huawei ID d. Still same. Headache my phone always one of the last to get... Previous updates also same.

Ok good news. Played around, I got malaysia sim in sim 2. I changed the active sim then check again then got notification for update d. Mate 10 non pro on Singtel

Tried checking with HiCare again, no news of EMUI 9.

Maybe will try the Thai SIM card or NZ SIM card that I have and insert to the phone and see if can trigger the update.

Weird..my wife and I have mate 10, both different batch, one from Singtel and one from M1.Both can update to Android 9 leh. Btw, can you see your warranty expiry date from HiCare?

I got it d. Yes can see. Under extended warranty can see it expires in 2020. Nice thing about Huawei to have 2 years warranty Bought it at 550. Sell it next year for 350 top up 200 buy Mate 20? Now mate 20 already 7XX. Maybe 6 more months it will be in 5XX range. Haha

Good idea. I also spent around 500 in the past few months to buy a used set. Don't need super new good phone... So next yr then buy mate 20.

Those that got msia sim card, what u can do is to try msia sim card and see if there is update

For me and my wife case, i tried to system update with sg sim, but no update found. Tried msia sim also no update found. Then i switch back sg sim and use hicare app and register for update, no update found too. Lastly, i switched to msia sim and finally there is system update

ok. the more i use emui 9 the more fluid it gets. loving it so far

I just noticed that after updating to EMUI 9, there's an option to use "reverse charging".

Is this something similar to the Mate 20 where we can charge other devices provided that both are connected via the USB cable?

i, too, noticed that apps launch faster as compared to EMUI 8. I like the smart screen recognition. Now I don't have to rely on Google Lens to know what a certain item is. LOL.

Nevermind. If you buy iPhone at 1.5k now. One year later you also sell for around 1k or less. You still keep more of your bucks in comparison.
