Phone not launch yet, but I guess since MT talked so much to share, must and will sell in SG. Price likely to be $998 or at most $1098. Any higher Huawei will lose its momentum and market share.

I'd be quite disappointed if the AI is only useful for the photo taking purposes as scene recognition is just like "auto" mode which is not really useful for seasoned photographers. Besides, do pro really touch up their photos on their phone?

What I'd actually like to see is the computer learning our daily routines like when you reached home, turn on wifi, off bluetooth, set ringer to silent, etc etc. Creates multiple profiles for in car, at office, outdoor, meetings, and set it automatically by the AI. Although, there are software that can do some of that but some features require root so if AI can do that would be a big plus

laojiao phone guy deckcard, great post.

According to a Medium article, the AI is useful for all the things you mentioned, including noise reduction, noise enhancement. Also, 3rd party apps will leverage many many AI functions, eg a writing app which can immediately OCR your handwritten text, presence and situation detect, health anomaly alert (eg from your Garmin heartbeat detect watch), language improvement app which will help write posts in good english, many others.

What you mention is situational detection, and I'm almost sure that it will be easily integrated into any AI phone.

Regarding "Besides, do pro really touch up their photos on their phone?" what I read was an AI machine learning technique which analysed professionally touched up images by the thousands, not necessarily handphone photos but photos in general, to learn techniques and situations when pros touch up photos and what they do, and apply the touchup in real time for your phone images.

I hope:
- IP67/68 sealing
- less than 8mm thick
- less than 160grams
- dual f/1.6 rear with OIS + at most f/2.0 front with at least 8mp
- Bluetooth 5.0
- usb 3.0
- QC3.0 or equivalent
- dual sim (or sim + microsd)

don't really care about screen size/ratio or whether it is curved or flat. at the end of the day it's about the internal specs rather than external aesthetics.

let's see how many ticks on 16 Oct i'll get...

Really? But Mate series is flagship so should have. P series may still be underwhelming
I mean, the reason why the past some batches of the P10 did not have oleophobic was because the technology didn't exist for that screen material. Since then, the correct coating has been invented.

Another tipster, Roland Quandt, has separately claimed that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro has been spotted in Eastern European retailers with an alleged pricing of EUR 930-940 (roughly SGD 1,500).

Also, since the Note 8 is already S$1398, I doubt Huawei will exceed S$1.4k with the Mate 10 Pro.
