if you saw the Pixel 2 launch, you'd realise that many many new functions are dependent on `on-device' AI without sending to cloud.

The Huawei would be the first phone to come with the `on-device AI' so that bodes well.

With Android O, new OS update is easy to implement already, so that shouldn't be such an issue.

there are 2 options you can configure:

APP DRAWER style (normal Android) or
IPHONE STYLE (no app drawer)

Just do what you prefer. No issues either way, many who used EMUI 5 like it so much. Those who say it sux should try the app drawer mode lol

The UI is very much simple to use sometimes it can be mistaken for iPhone lol..

However UI is quite subjective. If you want simple yet customize theme to use for your phone, this could be the one .

I hope Huawei can make the UI more like Android. There are already iPhone wannabe brands like Oppo and Xiaomi.
