won't this any any issue if you have Ez-Link or Flashpay installed on your phone?

Actually don't even need to unlock. Just wake phone can liao. You can be at your pattern/password/whatever screen and GPay should still work despite phone still being locked.

I have neither Ezlink nor Flashpay installed on phone... so I don't have any issue. Perhaps others who have them installed can reply to your query.

For my case on Note 8, I have to fully unlock the phone too on GPay. I have EZ-Link app installed too. But I doubt it's interfering it though. Got other users on the GPay/EZ-Link thread also like me have to unlock first. Isn't it very unsafe if we can just tap away without unlock?

Many years ago when GPay was just starting out, yes you needed to unlock with pin/pattern some more before you can use. Clunky as fk, but as you pointed out, safe.

Now they trade convenience for safety lor. The moment you lose your phone you should be prepared to remotely wipe it anyway. If you are not prepared to do that, then it's better that you don't use Google Pay with it.

Which means in some countries, ppl can just take a device and take all ur credit card info. The mitigation would be to off nfc if u don't need it?

I have no idea why some needs to unlock and why some doesn't. At least for my phone, I only need to wake the phone and I can tap in/out gantries or pay at stores.

Edit: Seems like it's due to me not hitting the transaction amount cap for locked transactions yet?

Interestingly, there has been no evidence of RFID-related financial crime (yet). I've just came across these articles this afternoon when googling for RFID wallets (yes I was actually looking at those):

https://www.csoonline.com/article/3199009/why-you-dont-need-an-rfid-blocking-wallet.html

https://www.moneytips.com/why-dropping-cash-on-rfid-blocking-tech-is-a-waste-of-money

But yeah, I suppose switching off the NFC is a viable option. I don't usually keep it on unless I know I'm gonna take a bus/mrt ride or heading to the stores/foodcourt. I would keep it on throughout the entire journey though.

we'll be getting EMUI 9.1 soon. :)

According to the official introduction, EMUI 9.1 has been improved in three aspects: aesthetics, performance, and smart experience. It claims to have deep optimization at the DNA level and lasting fluency beyond imagination.

In terms of aesthetics, wallpapers, themes, and icons are further improved, more natural and dynamic, especially the icons, using a micro-real style, refining the design elements in the daily image, and also more flat, while the number of default horizontal icons is reduced from 5 to 4, the visual effect is better, and the chance of accidental touch is greatly reduced.

In terms of performance, the new EROFS file system, also known as “Extendable Read-Only File System”, claims that the random read speed is 20% higher than the EXT4 file system, up to 63.3MB/ s, to ensure that the system is more fluid, but also saves space.

At the same time, the new system also supports GPU Turbo 3.0, which is the third-generation graphics acceleration technology. It has added 19 international games with higher frame rate and lower power consumption.

In terms of smart experience, more details and experience upgrades include a touch, a collision, a car key, and an AR measurement.

Guys, just want to share. Baseus got one new charging brick with EU head, can support Huawei SCP up to 22W, QC3.0, QC4.0, USB-PD 30W, Huawei FCP etc etc. Just got it delivered. The brick is solid and even bigger than original huawei charger for Mate 10 (22W one). Tried both USB-C PD and Huawei supercharge both working :D :D Finally a 3rd party adaptor that works. Just first day receive. Gotta try it out more to know how it perform.

Does VoLTE slows down internet? It seems slower after I enabled it.

Nope, don't think it will reduce 4G speed.

Hmm I also feel like 4g is slower but not sure if it has to do with volte

speed test showing speed is much faster without volte enabled .... anyone tried ? the result also same as mine ?

Hi everyone. It seems like my Mate 10 battery won't hold charge for long anymore. There's still a couple of months warranty left. Is the battery still under warranty? Thanks
