Actually gotten it to work and scan in 30 sec or so. Trick is to place the toy lying on its side first.

Will try to retrieve my file and show later

Anyone managed to try out the 3d scanning successfully? I tried many times but failed miserably. And the phone gets hot when using this app!

Another quickie scan. Wonder if during daylight will be better.

Quite good for a novelty. The soft toy should be relatively rigid with no moving parts like tail or ribbon if not quite hard for the mesh to close.

Will try on a rigid item to test for fun next.

Think depends on the object and my first attempt was OK. Took less than 1 min

Yes it does not work well. out of 10 attempts, only 1 was OK. but not satisfied

Yep I guess with every case there is risk. But it was the staff there that told me confirm can use with default case. Asked 2 of them. So to each his own I guess.
The RWM said this current batch of glass is smaller than the previous version and thus would be able to accommodate the free case. :)
I would say the workmanship is quite good. And gave ample time to cure.

When I actually see a normal looking scanned object den I'm convinced it's not a gimmick.

It's so pain in da ass to even scan and most of the successful ones doesn't even looked good (disoriented).

Guys, I thought most ppl here who went with Red White Mobile loca glue tempered glass have no issues with fingerprint sensor. But for me, it was wrong most of the time. Even after I re register my fingerprints, it was abit hard to register. Any idea what's wrong? But the feel of tempered glass and its sensitive is perfect. Only fingerprint can't use at all

I think I know what is the issue already. Nothing wrong with the screen protector. When I'm in an air con area and my fingers are very cold, I think there is no sweat / my finger becomes very dry and I always cant get the fingerprint reader to work. When I'm not in a very cold environment, my fingerprint works all the time.

I read online that we can counter this by also registering our fingerprints during cold conditions as additional fingerprints so it works in both normal and cold conditions. Some people have the same issue for older iPhones as well. Can give it a try.

Quite easy if u make the subject lying sideway as per their video first

The result is quite similar to dedicated handheld scanner (which are usually also quite unusable when scanning soft toys. Will scan a rigid object to try when I am free hehe

OK show us your best work with the app thanks. Most of those I saw looked like aliens rather than original ones.

I've tried doing the scan, it does pretty well, even captures the texture on it quite decently. I think the best way to do it is to put the item on a flat surface, then u just turn the item instead of moving your camera, until all the blue parts on the picture is gone.

Edit: how do u guys upload photos that work ah

How to go about doing that? If you try to register the same finger even in cold conditions phone will say fingerprint already registered.

kinda figured out what's with the green screen bleed... since ive been editing some wallpapers for my phone i can see some green bleed on my wallpaper even though usually when not in super dark situations cant see any green. so apparently, the green bleed only appears on some shades that normally, we would see black in normal situations. this applies to my reddit(night mode) also, the green tint only appear in the places not completely black... just an observation by me 😁😁 maybe does not apply to all lg screens but just mine

Another quickie scan in relatively dim lighting. Not sure if daylight be better for scanning

Think a more rigid object is easier to scan. No moving tails or ribbon.
Will test a rigid item soon for fun.

More like a novelty than for serious use. But good enuff to illustrate concept or mock up etc
