Lol how is mate 20 pro disappointing when it charge 30 min faster to 100%. It’s like slightly more than 40% faster than the mate 20

Also if you only have like a short 30-40 min to charge. M20P constantly is about 10% more than M20. Saw a battery usage video showing M20P can last 6 hour of intense usage. That will probably means you have an extra 1 hour of intense usage or probably 2-3 hours of light usage? Seem pretty significant to me

it's disappointing cos i don't usually charge to 100%, I usually charge to 80% as i like to maintain the longevity of my batteries and the difference in charge speed is minuscule between the 2 phones up to that point. Esp when you consider that in normal charging cycles, they pump full power from 0% to around 70 - 80% and they slow down after that, so i would have thought that the M20P would have an immense lead over the M20 at the start, but instead it's the opposite, it's the ending part of the charge cycle that it's relatively faster.
so the 40W charger benefits some people but doesn't really benefit me if I choose the M20P

Guys just get whatever makes you happy. Your money your call. Your phone your choice. Why must keep justify leh, unless you are still undecided and feeds on affirmation when people agree with your viewpoint?

Disappointing is relative.

When you are comparing this speed to older models, this is indeed faster. So improvement from older phones.

When you compare between Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Pro is still faster in general.

So if this improvement is not benefiting your daily usage pattern, then you can don't consider the pro, and get a mate 20 instead. So technically this is a non issue.

Whenw e compare products, it depends on the most important features/functions that suits the person's usage pattern. You can list down pros and cons of the 2 model and see which one is better for you

P20 pro is a solid phone... played with it too and the camera is solid, well it's still the best in class until 27 Oct, ... actually I was at the brink of getting one last month...and got the news of Mate20 pro so I decided to wait....

1 month or 2 is still OK with me cause my IP7+ battery can still hold for a while although it started to give me problems at times

It's a psychological thingy. 2 end of the spectrum (and anything in between)

1. Need assurance that the product I buy with my hard earn money is worth it. So getting agreement from more people (although they have never own such product) actually helps in decision.

2. Fanboys: The product/brand I buy must be the best. The rest are junks. This is the mentality that helps the companies to success as they need disregard fans that disregard the features among other things, but rather the brand name

And with the pricing of phones in the market now, this is understandable.

MY suggestion is, go to play with the demo sets and feel it for yourselves so that you can make a better decision. A lot of the video reviews are sponsored so you may not get a complete neutral ones.

Based on mothership website:

Mate 20 is S$998
Mate 20 Pro is S$1,348

If we don't factor in the freebies/goodies, Difference is $350.

$350 divided over 2 years, 1 day is just an extra $0.48 more.

Worth it to get Pro in the long run.

Thought Huawei said 70% in 30 mins? But test show 60% in 30 mins and 70% in 35 mins.

"up to 70%" if you hit all the requirement that they stated.
