Dont send to repair. Just download unclog your speaker.

Your phone is not damaged. When you dip into water, water gets on ( not in) speaker filter causing muffled sound. Just use the app to purge the water out of speaker filter .

And even though this is water resistant, do take not it is not chlorine resistant and running tap on your phone might damage your phone.

And please dont bring your phone for swimming anymore.
Water resistant is not waterproof!

I would use night mode on rather dark scenes. It's supposed to be able to pick up details but does not overexpose the photo.

I just took 3 pictures out of my apartment, one with HDR, one Night and the other Normal.

The normal showed up brightest, but the bright lights at the HDB blocks across appeared a tad overexposed, and the sky was much brighter.

The night mode: the sky was also a tad brighter than real. But the trees and bushes outside appeared very nicely. I like the green. It's a bit like day time.

The HDR lost out. As you can see the green from the bushes/trees appeared stale and the photo also appeared darker (contrary to your experience).

But I won't use night mode on adequately lit night scene. I don't think that's its strength.

For the record it's v dark out there. If I used iso100 and 1/60 speed, I would only be able to get some faint white light dots from the hdb. The rest would be pitch black.
There are some lights below my block. That's why u see that the trees at the front seemed to have light shining on them.

Thanks for the info but can you set the exposure around the tree area for HDR?
I believe you will be able to get almost the same effect as night mode when you do that. ( or try both mode with exposure set to the darkest area)

I really hope we can increase the brightness or select multi brightness for night mode so it will be comparable to gcam.

As for the resistance part I know it is not water proof. I just wanna test how resistance it is for pool activities. I mentally prepared to get slightly DMG.

I know I can still use the phone when it dries.jist that without warranty .

Do note, ip68 is a rating jus to certify the phone is water resistant but that does not mean it is WATERPROOF.

I always believe all the ratings are just for accidental splashes or using phone under rain and not deliberately washing phone under water or bring to a swimming session

There are water damage indicators for a reason. so exposing your phones to such risk and trigger the water damage indicator is at your own risk

To add on, water definitely will enter speaker grill. The grill is just a thin piece of film that will block water going in when the water is still. If there is some sort of pressure, water will enter the film

Usually if water goes in, speaker will be distorted which is normal. It will return to normal after a while like that is mentioned

First time switching to android with huawei.so just test water first.

Yeah. Ip68 also needs to depend son the design of the phone.
Like Samsung with 3.5mn and pen. Will be even harder to prevent the water from entering the phone

It is really about luck. Phones with no water resistant able to survive submerge in water for awhile if you are lucky.

My xiaomi mi max survived many times after getting soaked by rain.
Just dont take the risk.

General rule of thumb...we spent good money on our phones but don't go trying to dip and test the limits ie water resistance purposely lol

Agree with that. Even if your devices comes with ip 67, 68 or even 69, when it gets water damaged, warranty doesnt covers.

Did you buy the screen protector at the service centre? The sales guys from 313 are bunch of amateurs.. screenprotector is OK but how they apply it..carelessly. You should go back. did it too. firstly they didn't want to acknowledge but then I got pissed off. Then they did.

I have to also re-apply my one because dropped it. Previously I did it at Red White Mobe but I read some bros saying that the the screenprotector are smaller.

Any recommendations?

The top 3 are HDR shots. The X marks where I focused the shot.
The bottom 3 are Night shots. The focus point for each was the same as that for the HDR shot on top of it.

I think I still prefer the night shots cause the green looked much richer. The HDR looked a bit washed.


Incidentally, all 3 HDR shots were done automatically with
ISO 6400, S 1/17s, F 1.8, no flash, EV 0, AF-A
