Hi all,

Intending to get a new Mate 9 without contract. Have been sourcing from telcos (RRP at $898) and shops from Bugis and Far East Plaza (eg. WhyMobile) ($755).

The price difference makes it so attractive to buy from shops like whymobile or their competitors.
- Anyone has good/bad experiences with these shops?
- I know they are good at selling used phones, but for new phones can I buy from them or I should go to telcos?
- I read that these shops normally selling signed sets, and yet they claim they can provide 2 years local warranty, is the warranty really valid? In this case, how does the warranty work?

Seeking for advise.

Thank you in advance.

SRP is 898, so telcos will tend to sell at that price.
I got mine from Hitec Mobile @ 755, all ok so far and warranty is valid as long as have official receipt

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Yeah, I also saw from their website selling @ 755.
For your case, you meant the official receipt from Hitec mobile?
Do you know whether yours is a signed set or agent set?
Thanks again.

I encounter battery drain off issue after firmware upgrade to 158. Drop 25% over night without using. Got advice to do a factory reset from huawei live chat. Anyone has any advice how to resolve it without doing factory reset? Thanks in advance!

Seem like quite a few ppl have issue with battery.. How is this phone's battery life compared to other phones?

mine is a agent set as its BNIB (totally sealed) and they open the seal in front of me.

I have official receipt from Hitec Mobile, they put the SRP ($898) in the receipt as they say that Huawei will question if the price put in the receipt is too low.

Mobile hardware also tell my friend about this when he wants to send his set to service (they ask him to go down and get a official receipt with the SRP, instead of the price he bought it at ($760)

1 day 1 hour on battery, 58% left with 2hrs 50 mins of SOT, i think i can hit 3.5 hours SOT when my batt is at 50%.

so if multiply by 2, i can reach 2 days of usage on battery with 7 hours of SOT, which is very impressive :s13:

hi, typically the case happens to ahbeng shops is they claim to give u 2 years warrantly but when u return them they will usually send back to manufacturer as some parts they cant fix for you or they ask u to send to manufacturer yourself same, so in general they cant give u a 1to1 exchange if you expecting that. but then again if you are just so unlucky that you get a faulty set returning back for a 1to1 exchange within 1 week should be able to as mostly shop practise this way, but shop to shop varies so it really depends on what they mention on the spot.

then question again, if this is the case why dont you just search in carousell and buy from there since you are technically getting the same risk if the seller can provide you the date of purchase i think it should be generally safe.:s13:

I think you mis-understood. I meant warranty from manufacturer (Huawei). Unless it is agent set, if it is signed set, how are they going to know when does the 2 years start? Only if they honor the proof of purchase receipt from these ahbeng shop. :s13:
