Anyone with both mate 9 and p10plus... How's the responsiveness ... For my mate 9 sometimes I get slowdown of typing responsiveness

It just feels sad that everything about the phone is almost perfect, but some very glaring issues which could be easily solved.

The reason why the Kirin 960 is taking so much power while gaming seems to be how the gpu is programmed to run at max speed all the way, pumping the heat up really quickly at the same time and resulting in a throttle.

I am stating fact and my own experience. I have gotten nothing from playing game. So i urge people not to get too addictive to it. Its the knowledge that benefits you in the long run not by playing game. If someone is a professional gamer, that is another story. But well, playing game on phone will eat up battery fast, so just live with it.

You want good battery + good performance. Where can we find such phone in the first place? Nothing is perfect. Even S8 have its pro and cons.

Hardcore gaming will kill the battery fast.. you will need to change the battery after 1 year..

I am extremely happy with my P9 plus and Mate 9. They even have lunar calendar built in. This is something you cannot get on other brands.

is anyone here using a music player app which is not the huawei stock music app? though i love the mate9 to bits, I still find myself preferring the samsung music player, which allows me to see the recently added music files as well as the lyrics for my songs. Somehow, the huawei stock music app is not able to display the lyrics for the same songs which the samsung player was able to display.. :x

if anyone has any good music player recommendations, please do share.

let's go back to basics here. the intended usage of smartphones is to expedite communication and maybe enhance on the go productivity (lets you reply emails on a small compact machine, open office documents on the fly). if someone is multimedia centric they would more often than not bring a tablet or power bank around.

the mate 9 is targeted towards more business centric people and the gpu shouldn't be a selling point or even be a deal breaker if you are huawei's target audience. In my humble opinion, the mate 9 is far from perfect, however, in my eyes, it's the perfect phone FOR MY USAGE. and about the gaming experience how about you take the pov of an actual owner and act more like an end user instead. idc about temps neither do I care about the power consumption per frame or whatever - the phone runs games smoothly, lasts long and doesn't get warm. and that's what matters, not the crunched out numbers lmao.

I'm pretty sure, corroborating with other s7e users in this thread, that the overall battery life of the mate 9 is superior as compared to the s7e. and our supercharge is definitely superior than the quick charge on the s7e.

I just don't get why got so many good points of the mate 9 to focus on must purposely pick on its one bad point and act like it's the end of the world. let's just take a step back and appreciate huawei's effort to create such a well rounded device.

tl;dr if the gpu performance is a deal breaker for you, you aren't even the intended audience for this phone.

Obviously if anyone will be to review in more detail, will be reviewing on the cons since pros are already confirmed.

What is there to talk in more detail about the pros?

Obviously is the gpu performance is a deal breaker, I wouldnt get the phone.

Which is why I am asking about how users who have the phone find it in real life.

And, the interesting thing is how it uses twice the power and generates twice the heat compared to a snapdragon 821. Obviously one will be interested to see how that works out in real life.

In life, there are many things that you just derive nothing tangible in the long run.

Everything must be done in moderation, that is the very basics but i doubt it is the right section of the forum.

Not really on the good battery + performance is impossible, in fact far from it.

The interesting thing is that Huawei has made many bold moves which made the mate 9 efficient.

Example using a 1080p screen and a 4000mah battery.

This is highly commendable. the only glaring thing left standing out is the gpu taking twice the power compared to Qualcom chips. which is surprising, flagship chip to flagship chip.

I already said it works out okay in real life what LOL. Said that temperatures are moderate and battery life isn't that bad.

Also, I'm pretty sure reviewers would've been complaining should gaming drain the battery at an extraordinary pace.

Mdata sight have 4g. But if you have not entered 4g coverage before, better call m1 to confirm that 4g vas is added.

After calling m1 confirm that the card is not 4g activated.

Now can use 4g liao.

I do game quite a bit on the mate 9.
Mainly Hearthstone, GTA Series and PSP Emu.
I don't touch the mobage stuffs etc.

I find the battery last a lot longer vs my old S6edge.
And it doesn't get really hot. Perhaps it's the rugged armor?

Display wise, yes, Samsung is slightly better, but I don't miss it nor does it detracts me from enjoying the games.

The only time the display gets really hot for me is when I am trying to use the phone outdoor during noon time when the sun is directly overhead. The display will get really hot because the brightness is bummed up all the way and the heat of the sun makes it worst. But, it's the same with any other phones I've used.
