so far any regrets getting the mate 9? im using s7 edge currently

came from s7 edge too, no regrets at the moment. big screen + good battery life + good camera.

camera wise can't beat s7 edge but the curved screen of s7 edge do piss me off at times. somehow the screen on s7 edge feels smaller cause of the curves too.

Huawei's popularity is certainly growing very significantly in SG. Only a matter of time when the service center gets ridiculously crowded.

Anyway just dropped by the service center at 313 as my Mate 9 screen is flickering intermittently. anyone else having the issue?

Why would the service centre get crowded if they provide consumers with a reliable product? Oppo is also growing but their service centre is never crowded. I had the ip7+ which rebooted randomly and when I went to the service centre at Plaza sing, the queue was ridiculous and the appointments are always booked.

Huawei and oppo both provide 2 years warranty for their phones as compared to samsung, LG, apple and Sony. Guess they r really confident of their products to offer this benefit too.

The only taboo people have is that they are a China company so it's gonna take a while for them to build up their brand and reputation.

Can I ask you all is it safe to use 3rd party cable to connect to it's original power adaptor for charging ?

But the Huawei Original Power Adaptor connected to the power supply can output max 5A so most cable in the market might not be able to take the current loading ?

No 3rd party cable will enable 5A current on Mate9, the cable has propriety chip--should be resistor--built-in to allow communication between Huawei SuperCharger and Mate9. The Vbus and Ground pins are double the size of ordinary USB cable, so as all the wires/conductors.

FYI, Huawei Honor Magic will have even higher current--8A@5V. typical USB microUSB have a limit of 2.4A@5V or 3A@5V for USB Type C. only USB-PD certified devices and cables allow higher.

p.s. in case your don't understand Chinese, the cable with purple port is Huawei. the other 2 cables are OPPO VOOC and OnePlus DASH.
