The best price for mate 9 is 590 at hitec mobile and kasia mobile. Anyone knows any better price than this? Or this is the lowest price? Lol

I got it at $590 from one of the Shopee's shop with free delivery. There are a few here who got it cheaper here at just over $500. I saw a few slightly cheaper units (likely from telco) around $560 in Carousell.

At this price with these features as 2016 flagship phone, it is already great value for money compared to Xiaomi's budget phones (e.g. Mi Max) that costs about $300 with far lower capability in camera and slower processors. (I was using my Mi Max until I cracked the screen.)

I have to add that original receipt is important for your warranty, so do insist if you are getting from the individual seller.

How much is the export set? Giving up 2y local warranty with screen replacement is going to be tough unless price is really good! And 4gb is fast enough so 6gb would not be much advantage, so comes down to price.

Huawei Malaysia selling Mate 9 at RM2499 with free car kit and super charge type c cable. 1 year warranty one to one exchange and first 3 months with screen warranty one time. I love the odin black.

The warrant for local set is very good. Don't give it up for a small saving.

Yes it is... Saw 2 used Mate 9 6gb for sale on Carousell. White and Gold...
I'm waiting til Nov to decide, after Xiaomi release Redmi Note 5 specs. Saw used mate 9 going for $450 - $500 on Carousell and new sets at $590 - $620. Can't justify buying a used set :s22:

used sets should be around low 400s... sometimes carousell prices are on the high side as sellers do not do their market research properly...

Sent from Samsung SM-N950F using GAGT

As a seller, it is difficult to stomach a fall of more than 50% for a good handphone in less than a year of purchase around $800+. At $590, this is a very good price for a new one.

That's the problem with Android phones, especially not so popular brand like Huawei. Resale value don't hold very well.

:) sounds like 2nd hand car prices.

Realistically of all phones only Apple and Samsung (S & Note series) hold value. Then again buy at high prices and 2nd hand prices seem high but actual net dollar loss might be significant.

Ironically I probably lose least on Xiaomi, because the phone is originally priced low for its specs, esp export model and quality is decent depending on one's luck.

Xiaomi is a lot of phone for its price. But it's no way gonna be comparable to the top line phones, XM Note series is mid range category. Xiaomi is also not very good with cameras so I wouldn't think it's RMN5 would be any different. I'd pick a 2nd hand or new Mate 9 with warranty over that.

Yeah its mid range vs top end. My needs are mainly battery and bigger screen around 6", so camera isn't important. Used to buy high end phones but realised mid-range phones meets my need and isn't pricey. But Mate 9's price is now very attractive with the 2 years local warranty.

Yep. Agreed, it does make u consider on the mid range phones, Mate 9 is definitely a step up with a large screen too.

I still own a XM RMN3 3g ram/32gb which really does all I need till today (I don't game) for less than $200 when I bought it. But the camera indoors cannot make it and I do need the camera on some occasions.
