I was using xiaomi Redmi note 4 with curved sides and got some tg from taobao which covered the sides well

Hmmm... if you want it to cover the curved sides only those nano screen protectors can but some casings will cause the screen protector to lift up which is frustrating.

does anyone have problems where ur lockscreen wallpaper changes itself to one of those in magazine unlock? how do you resolve that?

yeah redmi note 4x and mate 9 different screen sizes, 0.4 inch difference, how would it fit.

The tg i bought from that seller fits my note 4x with curved screen well, i guess the mate 9 tg he's selling would fit well too.

But for mate 9, I didn't order from this seller, forgot about it, ordered from other sellers instead. My tg are on the way from taobao, should receive it in a few days. Will post here if it fits well
