What is the difference? Maybe something I am not aware of. I was looking at both and it's the same. Swipe from left and or right screen is back. Swipw from bottom is home. Swipe from bottom and hold is recent apps. ☺️

Functionally they're both the same. P30 has no home button so Huawei copied the gestures from the iPhone X. P20's gestures are just easier since they're all done on the home button, on the P30 you have to use the bottom and left/right edges of the phone screen.

Hi ,
just got my Huawei P30 pro . after setup the fingerprint ID and face recognition , i ask my colleague to test . to my horror , they can unlock my phone with their finger .
and then i put my phone facing the wall , and do a swipe up , and the phone unlocks by itself .. it means the face recognition doesnt work at all !!
Does anyone have this issue? any solution ??
i called Huawei hotline . and the first reply is to hard reset . and if hard reset don't work , bring down the the service center so they can hard reset for me.

Is your smart unlock set to on? On specific device connected or location? Which explains the unlock.
Or its a faulty set?

for the p30 pro, if your screen is off , does pressing the fingerprint to the screen at the fingerprint sensor turn on the screen and unlock the phone? same as for the older phones where the fingerprint sensor is at the back?

thanks a lot!
i turned it off and problem solved !
Glad to be of help!
The smart lock isn't very smart, can be very misleading and flawed XD
e.g: set to no lock at home area on map (not WiFi), & anyone who found your phone nearby gets a free unlocked phone XD

Nope. It doesn't work this way. For in display fingerprint only Samsung can do it. Optical fingerprint need the screen to be on.

For my p30, when my finger goes near the off screen, the fingerprint sensor area detects my finger and a symbol lights up to process the fingerprint. I didn't have to turn on the screen first. I don't use always on display too

Ah, OK. P20 also has the option to use the screen to swipe. But yes, it has the home button option which some may be used to.
