As long as you have on a case that is thicker than the camera bump, I don't think you need a protector for the rear lens. My P30p lens has zero scratches.
What case r u using ?

Hi guys, need your help, i saw someone on carousell can install gms into p40 pro with 100% no issues with updates and 100% all apps will work. Can i confirm that obce you install gms everything will work flawlessly?

No individual will be able to independently give you Google Pay. The banks need to collaborate and grant some certificate and a mechanism to authenticate that your phone is unmodified.

In other words, if we want Google Pay, we are better off lobbying the companies to cooperate, than to figure out our own workarounds.

We should instead urge Huawei to incorporate Mastercard and Visa into Huawei Pay in Singapore.

Google Pay will never ever work. Ever. That requires Goog certification which this and the Mate 30 simply do not have. With apps you have workarounds for most of them, but GPay will simply not work because Google certification is missing. No getting around that.

edit: like Gadget Maniac mentions, there's also Huawei Pay, but until it incorporates Visa or MasterCard payment this is a non-starter for the majority of us.

uob pay and icbc already started to support huawei pay. just need the mainstream bank like DBS to support now.

tbh, trade war will slowly eat all MIC equipment one day. just that they r not big enough to be a threat now. I rather support open platform like huawei app gallery as a form of contingency before xiaomi or oppo will be next target

Using grabfood for now. Yeah there alternatives for everything now. Still not bad. I installed GMS. Also living with no gpay at the moment.

Still can use web based to order from your phone right? give huawei sometime to build the apps. remember few years back we always complained apps develop for apple first before it came to Google?

What’s the alternative for gpay besides whipping it out physically as sometimes I just go out with only my phone Eg to nearby mall

Yeah while we have alternative via phone brower and stay put for Huawei app gallery to get those apps on board or better still Donald unlift Google ban. The only thing is Google pay for contact less payment unless u don't carry carry credit card with u. Sometimes I worry to use their machine to scan as there are too many germs where I use the phone clinching on my face 😂😂😂

Seeing your post here, at first I was excited to install the UOB Mighty app to use UOB Mighty Pay on P40 Pro's NFC hardware. However I cannot get past the SMS-OTP verification and it keeps spinning forever.

So back to square one, now i know of no way to use NFC payment for P40 Pro

- Huawei Pay - only works for ICBC-issued UnionPay credit cards, unable to personally verify as I do not have such a credit card

- UOB Mighty Pay - perpetually stuck at SMS-OTP verification when trying to add UOB Visa Card. If it works, this would be the first known way to use a Master/Visa card on P40 Pro. Unfortunately it doesn't for me and waiting for fellow users to try.

I mean for that there's no other alternative than to take out the actual card. Haha. I think convenience do spoil us a bit

Ya exactly I agreed haha I am spoiled hence when and if I pay 1000 for a phone at least 1/3 of the factors are convenience and convergence (whereas the other 2/3 will be photography and specs)
