Mine is the 3 years onsite NBD.

Amazon checkout with CGW address for shipping, Billing address in Amazon -- your Singapore one.

In Lenovo.com Account, use your CGW address. for all addresses.

For me, I was automatically given the Amazon checkout account as I have an Amazon account for my Amazon.com orders. -- All addresses have been defined properly as per what I indicated earlier.

Double confirm via your Sales on Lenovo Livechat for the warranty bah.

3 yr depot, if i not wrong, is you have to bring the machine down to the Changi IBM place on weekdays during office hours only.

For my case, 3 years onsite, the tech came on a Saturday -- downside is , make sure you describe the problem properly so that they can bring the right parts to service (exchange etc).. as I heard from the tech, Lenovo policy == limit to 1 or 2 parts per trip.... not like Dell, bring more... lol

Yeap, direct from Lenovo USA -- their 3 Years onsite option.... Making sure my model W520 was the IWS covered model.

How can you know if your model is IWS covered? Do you need to send a separate application to Lenovo SG to have the warranty transferred here? Asus required this step somehow, even though their laptops are covered internationally for 2 years.

Just check via the IWS site -- for the 4 digit model number... Mine was covered in IWS from the database shown...

Your sales guy in Lenovo US live chat will tell you the same thing too.... The 4 digit model number starts with a 4 -- mine is 4270, I think for W520. They have many variants, for online models vs pre configured retail models.

Also I believe all Online models do not have the 56k modem installed.

I remembered checking with the SG - ASEAN Registration team, and they had to do something, as I asked for the onsite warranty start date to change to the day I receive the laptop in Singapore and not when they ship out from Shanghai Lenovo Factory to CGW Address.

So the Asean Reg team linked me to the Lenovo US registration team and got the date changed.

Is there any way to configure Access Connections to switch to the stronger signal wireless AP?

I have two wireless AP at home, with the same SSID. My personal thinkpad using windows wireless connection will switch to the stronger signal AP when I move around the house. However, my work thinkpad which use Access Connections will not switch to the stronger signal wireless AP.

hope someone can help me on this issue.

the seller claims it's brand new/not refurbished.

i searched a part number (eg 2752-xxx) on lenovo site and under the detail description of the parts used it says "refurb 2752-aaa....." the specs are slightly different also.

does it mean this is new as the seller is claiming or lenovo modified the refurbished ones?

To apply for international warranty?
Just need to select 3 years of depot right?

Yup, from the website.

Or must apply in singaproe?

It depends if your laptop model is covered under international warranty. Use the Lenovo website to check. If Singapore is listed then the warranty applies.

If still not comfortable, you can email Lenovo US and ask. That's what I did. At least there is black and white if u need to service the laptop.
