X1 Carbon "touch" will only be available in 2013.
i just checked with addon, they mention that X1 Carbon 8GB, 3G should be landing next week. they will inform customers once they receive the physical stocks

Well they told me 1st/2nd week of December.... kind of annoyed, paid deposit end October hoping to get it early November and a whole month late..

So just be prepared for delays, for whatever reason...

If you are trying to buy locally, you generally just have to go into one of the shops that carry the X1 carbon and ask. Addon at Funan probably has the most options and knowledge about it. Do not know if there is a specific price for adding just 3G, but as I have stated before the i7/8GB RAM/256GB SSD/3G model is $3148.

If you are trying to buy from Lenovo USA, then you just have to look for the configurations with the mobile broadband... Appears to be an approx $140 USD upgrade... Convert this to SGD and add a bit and probably around what you expect to get the 3G option here...

HDD replacement for w500

Hi all, my Lenovo w500 just gave up on me.

Sent to IBM, Found out that HDD needs to be replaced.

Was quoted $440 to replace my 500gb hdd in my W500.

Do you think its over priced? or should i just buy one at sls and replace it there?

Just wondering where you guys to to repair your laptops?

Please help! thanks alot.

if it is only HDD dead, you can just get your own HDD to replace it and install the OS and programs again.
addon @ funan is an authorized service provider for ThinkPad, they can sell you a new 500GB HDD and load OS for you for $100+.

X230 only have 2 RAM slots, hence max is 2 x 8GB = 16GB RAM. unless the industry release a 16GB RAM for notebook.

X1 Carbon RAM is soldered to mainboard, cannot change.

The RAM and storage are not user upgradeable on X1 Carbon.

thanks for the reply, i find it strange why they decide not to bring in backlit keyboard as standard for the local singapore market.
