Agree with u to wait for Comex. Probably at Comex it will come with a few hundreds dollars cheaper. Offer has been on since 28 July and will end 23 Aug. Can advise what is the difference between WXGA and WXGA+? thanks.

Prices unlikely to be much difference for Comex. But free gifts might be more attractive.

WXGA+: 1440x900 (sharper words and more details)

Was told not the case. Prices are attractive. However, that is provided you do not need Windows 7 Professional and Win XP downgrade as machines purchased from Thinkclub comes with Windows 7 Home Premium only.

If you are confident and particular about the noise, you can try to remove the keyboard and stick some soft padding at the corner of the keyboard where you hear the sound.

But please be extra careful when you are trying to remove the keyboard.

I'm not sure but something sounds loose beneath the keyboard. Don't dare to open the keyboard myself. Do you have any other solutions?

Send back to Lenovo. Get them to check citing that you fear something is lose.

Hey randomguy, you may want to try taking out the keyboard to have a check yourself. Just need to remove a few screws from the back. You can refer to the documentation here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-74470.html

Its not difficult and may save you a trip going down to changi if its just some dirt trapped below

Not that bad la. Usually minor problems which does not require parts replacement, they should be able to return you the laptop on the spot. But send in your laptop early in the morning in case they need to replace any part (I think they order the parts each day around 11am and those parts ordered for the day will reach them before 2pm.

Alternatively, check if your laptop has onsite warranty where you can request the technician to come to either your home/office to do the check.

Good deal. But if you don't need the extra 6 cell battery, you might want to consider either checking if the shop offers to buy back the battery at a "discounted" price or sell it off online.

Yeah, I agree that the additional battery is not important as I work at home most of the time. What I need is Microsoft office which they are offering the upgraded version meaning 2007 to be upgraded to 2010.I suppose it is OK as the new Office 2010 professional cost abt $400.00
I am also looking at another higher grade of T410 (2537RZ5)which comes with WXGA+ and nVidia NVS3100M, the price probably about $100.00 more which I believe is worth it. I wish to thank everybody for the recommedation and suggestion which I really appreciated. Cheers!

You can check what version of Office 2010 the other shop is offering you.

I believe your most recent quote could be done without the battery too. Do give it a try.

Yes, I think the model with WXGA+ is more worth. Not the fact that it has a dedicated graphics which you might not use, but the WXGA+ screen is really a good to have item. I feel the 1280x800 screen somehow lack of sharpness.

Hi kweklj,

Yup, go for the WXGA+ and discrete graphics, especially if you are used to a big desktop. If you are using something smaller now, it may take some time to get used to it because of the small font size. I remember making my switch from 1024x768 to 1400x1050 and I had to practically put my nose to the screen...haha. But its a good thing once you get used to it.

Since you'll be plugged in to power most of the time, the nvidia card will also really help with it comes to graphics, games or 3D stuff. And if you are on the go, switch to the integrated gfx to maximise battery life.

Best deal yet...go for it.
