Try to call up the support number given by Azrielsc and check with them if you can claim the warranty. Get a Case ID from them before going down to the service centre.
Will do that. Thanks so much.

Yes, it's better to call them up first and get a Case ID, instead of making your way down to the Service Centre. I had a few Lenovo laptops (bought from Lenovo Singapore Reseller) which needed some parts replaced and I never had a single problem with getting them fixed under warranty.
However, I just received my first X230, which was bought from Lenovo USA, and I haven't had any issue with it to warrant any warranty claims... yet.
Wow, didn't know that Thinkpads do come without international warranty.OK I have a clearer picture after calling them today. Apparently my laptop is under Limited Warranty and non IWS. Unless I can show a receipt from Lenovo or my passport showing my period of travel to US, they will repair my laptop for a fee. Ebay receipts are not accepted in this case. So for those who bought Lenovo from ebay, just take note of this.
If you are unable to repair your lappy, can give me your HDD rubber? The 2 pieces that wrap round your HDD.
My T420 came with 7mm HDD but I ordered a Crucial M4 9.5mm SSD. Canno fit.
I purchased a refurbished X220 from ebay last year. Recently, I found some bright white spots on the IPS screen. As it is under warranty, I thought I could bring it to the Lenovo Service Centre and probably have my screen repaired or replaced. However, they asked for the original Lenovo receipt which did not come with my laptop previously. Hence, they are unable to do the replacement for free.
I asked for a quotation for the replacement for the screen. The service staff quoted me $400+ and a labour charge of about $75. Seriously, I do not think this is worth it. Does anyone know a cheaper means of getting the screen replaced?

I realize by using 65W, the CPU will throttle to 800Mhz which is bad! So purchased another 90W adapter for my portable use.

It seems like the earlier x220s had a problem with their touchpads jittering alot when using a 90w adapter.
Was only solved recently with firmware updates.

It will still work. The power adaptor for Thinkpad T/R 61/400 is the same as that which is used for the Thinkpad X220.The listed supported series does not include x220 leh.
