I find the ppl there very friendly. my flight is early morning, The rental co not open.
Called the guy he ask me put keys in the box will do but ask me to wait he want to return me the deposit RM50.
i said no need but they quite insistent and they did rush to return me the deposit,

A pity covid kill alot of business there, went to The Loaf Perdana Quay for lunch, whole place deserted only one shop standing. The lunch was good.

can share the car rental company?
i'm still thinking if i should rent car or just grab everywhere?
1st time gg langkawi in June.

I am not sure if Grab is widely available at the far side of the island, that is if you plan to go there. If you are a competent driver, driving is cheap and convenient.

Yes! renting a car is super useful and not too expensive

cars are even cheaper in langkawi as compare to other states.

i remembered, the first time i drove the rental car to the beach.
was fun until the wheels got stuck in the sand..
lucky, the people there were super nice.
all came forward and assist to push the car off the sand. :D
so comical.

got Grab, my sis in law family use grab. but ulu location need wait a while.
grab food also have. i grab food to my resort when we too tired to go out for dinner.

sounds like it's better to rent car in langkawi...anyone can share rental company?
I don't recall the company I used and it may not have survived the pandemic. I googled and Whatsapp the company. I did not pay up-front. In any case, it is quite competitive. You can look up Klook, Easybook, Wahdah and other platforms for comparison.

YEs, car dont pay import tax. Therefore a lot of supercars in malaysia is registerd in Langkawi. maximum of 90days only in one calendar year can be driven outside langkawi

anyone happen to know where can i get an updated map of langkawi with sky bridge?

probably staying there for a week,
intend to stay a few hotels/resort.
hence, the map would be good to plan itinerary
