I'm surprised people have still been using this. I stopped using when they made it harder to redeem the points

Been using it only for its wallet to use on foreign currency purchases since I get close to spot rate when converting to foreign currencies.

It's those who whine about the changes are probably using it to do more than just the above.

Of course still using, it's fantastic for those who know how to use it. The changes are not enough to make it useless. I will still use it until they charge more than 3.25% over MC exchange rate.

totally agree .
In my view, still the best cashback supplement tool for overseas usage ( within certain catgories and spending caps ), still useful for CMRC if need some miles for certain categories ).
Also fantastic as locally for free cashback if you know how to use it, as you said.
Also, the wallet forex rates still better than Youtrip and Revolut, especially weekends. Good also for overseas transfers.
Trust is just a backup overseas usage card if you cant get anything else except the 1% cashback.
Youtrip good mainly only for free cash ATM withdrawals in certain countries.

Main use for this card isn't for instarem points.

It makes almost every offline transaction eligible for 4mpd.

How to earn miles now if spend less than $5 offline per tx. Haha.

Most people don't spend less than $5 every transaction, if you do then don't use this card. I only use amaze overseas and I don't remember any transaction is below $5, moreover you have a choice to use the wallet which have been proven to provide the best exchange rate among any card you can use. Any nerf is bad news but seriously I don't get why people keep saying that there are no use for this card, it is still very useful. I will be very happy if these latest measures get rid of some users but keep the main benefits alive for a longer time for people like me.

There are still a couple of cashback credit cards without minimum spending.

i believe amaze wants more people using their cards. if less people is using it, they will nerf more things. more people use = more income.

i use amaze + crmc locally and overseas. overseas no problem for me moving forward. it's the local spend part. i will sometimes buy items like drinks, ijooz, etc. which is just $1 or $2. guess i'd have to use those general spend cards to earn miles then. haha.

I think you can tell from the exchange rate that they make money from the exchange rate to cover the cost. Letting people spend locally probably doesn't make them money or even lose money so they implement some charges to cover costs. I am fine to pay some fees to keep them in business as long as it's a better deal than others. My revolut and youtrip card are kept firmly in drawer due to amaze card.

So with the nerf, is it still recommended to use amaze + Citi rewards for overseas spend since there are no changes for that and we still get 10x right?

Hi all,

After reading, understand that it’s still worth to keep the Amaze + CRMC for oversea spending due to the 10mpd.

For local spending, anyone has any recommendation to replace them?
