i should have the choice to disable E Cores and just leave P Cores on with HT right? like that shouldn't have issue.. machiam falling back to old skool intel.

just that a bit more troublesome la.. every time want to do work i need to tweak bios.. play game need to tweak bios..

edited: a quick google and i found some compatibility issues on vmware workstation with 12th/13th hybrid architecture.. but it seems like a software issue.. simple fix.. i firmly believe that the vmware bois will resolve those issues eventually.. :geek:

lol, it's not the application's fault. There's nothing for them to resolve.

Even games also have the same issue.

Hybrid architecture has existed since the 12th gen, but until now, such issues still arise now and then.

If you want consistency, better intel outside than inside.

Broadcom taking over soon; broadcom mix max, i doubt it :s13:

You can edit the .vmx file and exclude the E cores from being scheduled, it should work fine, but you'll only have your 8 P cores to split between VMs.

Rant:
But ultimately, when the product have more E cores than actual P cores, what are they actually selling.....
I understand the rational behind having a few E cores to supplement the more performant P cores, but when there's more E cores than P cores, are you really buying a 12th/13th/14th gen processor with some E cores or are you buying an 8th gen processor* with some 12th/13th/14th gen P cores sprinkled in? :s39:

*roughly 8th gen equivalent performance, I know gracemont is not 8th gen.

Edit2:
Before I catch flak, I know Intel got nothing new to offer, hence the current offering in the market. Time in market is better than time out of market. Do or die I get it.

Whatever can drive down the price of 8800X3D is good.. that's all that matters :ROFLMAO:

i actually like the idea of just setting PBO + xmp profile and throw everything to the back of my head...
that's what i'm doing on my current 3700x.. simple tweaks..
i've been on AMD all my life cause it's cheaper and games my era (and some of yours) didn't used to require tons of CPU power..

anyways.. i do other things as well of course.. not just purely gaming..
running VMs for proofs of concepts, video recording on obs and such.
a little video editing (cut and combine videos only no special editing)

so what you guys mean is arctic freezer aio won't be my lord my saviour la..
and down volting enough to reach my satisfactory CPU performance while not pushing the temps too high is still important for preserving the lifespan of my CPU.
right?

anywayssssssssssssssss...
the 6 ticks are the 6 CPUs i manually assigned to the game.
I'm running the game on the lowest possible setting.. lowest of the lowest....
i'm on strix 3080ti btw and i have no plans to up my gpu cause the benefit doesn't justify the need to change..
and finally, i'm not a tuner myself altho i eat IT for a living

Somehow I felt zen 3 Ryzen 9 series can save alot if you going for 5900x or 5950x while saving alot on platform upgrade premium based on the state in screenshot.

absolutely spot on. which i can't find myself to get the 13900k nor the 14900k (for work). waste of money.. and for gaming. it's absolutely was of money..

I also agree with YK, the amount of time on games for a decent gaming experience plus rock stable platform.. AMD4 still have what it takes. 5800X3D

as for @siaodi as he have mentioned need to run VM and such.. then no choice, intel will be the route but dont need to go 14900KF. 13700K with decent rams (apply more G or rams) with tighter timing will do the job.. few seconds will not die plus save your pocket. save electricity (though in SG not so bad on electrical bill) it's still saving man..

Yeah.. no choice.. better buy intel..

Let the CPUs with real cores to be purchased by multi purpose users like me.

I need my VMs & other Applications to perform consistently & predicatably, with no side effects and fuss free.

Pls buy Intel so i can buy AMD cheap in future 😍

14900kf cheaper than ryzen 7950x3d and roughly same price as 7800x3d. Also the price difference between 13th and 14th not big. Tighter ram wise. The fastest RAM retail in SLS I see is only CL32 (intel). And Bo bao got stock for the ram.

anyways. I run vm also for POC purpose la. Record video show bosses and customers. It’s plain setup. AMD or Intel also can do. It’s not like I gonna run production servers on my gaming rig. Haha.

I do agree with hw zoners here when I watch benchmark videos that 7800x3d does out perform intels in many games. But those are not the games I play. BDO wise, so far, I only found 1x well known streamer mentioned that intel chips are more optimised for BDO and ff14 comparing to AMD. He also mentioned that if you’re playing other games and BDO is not your main game. Overall 7800x3d is a better gaming cpu.

All the best la.. hmm rams you can get better timing and cheaper at Amazon.sg, I have been using or getting rams from Amazon. so far only one DOA. rest working fine.. especially from TeamGroup. no matter what bus frequence or lantency, set XMP, bam.. it runs buttery smooth. even their 48 or 96g kit. no sweet. Of course non argb.. i find them nuisance.. only add extra heat.

VMware17 fixed its scheduler and everything is working fine with correct allocation to pcores. Don't have to enable/disable ecores or HT. If you are concerned, for your performant VM pin the pcores to it, and for your storage-based vm etc you can pin ecores. Do you have to use hyperv? if not then AMD still a viable choice :)

As for gaming, if your game benefits from the cache, go with the 7800x3d, really no brainer. Just be aware of the infamous AMDip that happens time to time when you're used to the FPS of the cache and then it runs out and you're limited to ram bandwidth and pure cpu grunt. It's only for a split moment though and you might not notice it at all.

For games that rely on CPU being fast like RT games, or starfield/spiderman, you do benefit quite a bit from using intel platform IF you are able to push the platform.

Not suppose to use my personal PC for work anyways. It’s for my convenience. Still need to go office do staging. Might as well do on my own PC. So basically it’s not important. I not using hyperV. I just use VMworkstation.

once make my purchase. I will see what results it can produce. Thanks everyone.

Not sure if TD is bringing in 3Gb IC based (24, 48GB) value RAMs this round.
KLEVV has paper launched these last week, should appear on taobao, HK, SK etc and other faster markets soon.

Wondering if they're placing a CKD on the value RAMs and if these are 6400MT/s or 5600MT/s JEDEC ICs based.
bianbao said (will quote, since it is non NDA stuff) SK Hynix won't do 6400 MT/s ICs on 5600 greens because they are not placing a CKD chip on something that is not 6400MT/s JEDEC (since the chip is part of spec).

But this is definitely something to look forward to! Unlocked PMICs and unbinned quality ICs (good ICs not taken away from bottom barrel models) not robbed from peasant priced sticks!
Just like old day silicon lottery where you can get a top bin i5 or i7 instead of paying to win silicon lottery with stringent binning (i9, 7950X, etc) vs price point these days.

Supposedly they will bring in if you request from the shop. Will take awhile.

CKD won't be on our ram anytime soon, till 15th gen. Intel shifted it all back. That said most 24gb sticks will do fine. Played with ripjaws 6400, 6800 and hynix 5600 greens, all do 8000 at least without issue.

soft limiting it to 149k/147k is an absolute joke lol, corporations being greedy shouldn't surprise us though.

Even the stepping ID is the same for both CPUs which is a dick move on Intel's part since they are technically the same CPUs just better binned. But the samples for 14900K has been largely poor with the 14900KF samples being better in general.

On mobile CPUs, IPF and DTT are “free” and tuning is customized by the PC vendor.

TGL-U already has this (most likely ICL-U as well). But of course the APO (marketing name for desktop IPF/DTR profile) is on a narrow whitelist.

In the 3 generations, intel created an unnecessary problem for themselves due to political reasons.

Their driving force behind this hybrid architecture is likely due to their already subpar power efficiency at stock. Without those 'efficiency' cores, what's already bad would have been worse.
y
They are trying very hard to give the impression that they are still competitive, but anyone with a functioning brain can easily see through this.

Lastly, it makes no sense for other developers or vendors to work with them for their political agenda. Their hybrid architecture is FAR from something I would consider a technological advancement, it's literally just a cheapskate method that has known side effects. Rn, those vendors are just playing along out of respect.

Intel should stop their nonsense, stop expecting others to play along with them, be upfront, and rid of it altogether. Even if they can't keep up with the competition, they shouldn't be introducing such unnecessary issues. They should stop trying to get other vendors or companies involved in it.

Why must other companies waste time and resources to work with their nonsense? :ROFLMAO:.
