Basically, AdBlock is paying the Crystal dev to whitelist 'Acceptable Ads'. The deal is rumoured to be around USD$5,600/month in favour of the Crystal dev. The Crystal Dev has since commented on twitter you can still block **ALL** ads in Crystal if that is what you want.

switched over to Purify. since it's created by the same fellow that did the ublock extension.. which imo is good and lightweight~

Do remember to switch off iOS and OSX ad blockers when you are searching for something online. Could be a product or service that you want. Once you found what you want, you can turn it back on.

Alternatively if you are too lazy to switch the ad blocker on and off, use Chrome when searching for stuff and Safari when you do not want to be disturbed by ads.
