After convert to esim will need a few hours before activation
this is correct. I'm on Singtel as well

after receiving and adding the eSIM to the tablet, it will say that activation failed. Had to to wait about 3-4 hours and and then I got a cellular signal, I restarted the tablet and voila, Singtel 5G goodness.

Anyone notice the iPad is much warmer in color vs the older miniled iPad or MacBook Pro ? My iPad is 11 inch with nano glass. It is off enough that I am planning to go down to shop to check if I have a bad unit. The reference mode is looks accurate though.
If I compare reference mode, the old iPad looks too cool and oled iPad looks right. If I compare True Tone mode, the oled looks too warm. It is hard to tell which one is right but they look very different

Oh wow… thks for the advise… on the restarting the tablet. The Singtel support said that I have to remove it, otherwise it will not be able to activate.

…I got to wait for 3 days 😭.. not sure why…(have not pay the bill maybe)

First-time IPad owner. I’ve never bought any personal IPad or Macbook, only used at work occasionally for specific tasks. After spending some time with it, I would to share my POV.

Review: M4 IPad Pro 13” 1TB
Best parts:
1. Amazing bright contrasty HDR OLED display. This is the main reason I did not buy previous Ipads, due to the IPS displays. The wait was well worth it.
2. Blazingly fast and snappy app & browser performance. Apple Pencil Pro writes well and latency is not noticeable.
3. Great range of physical accessories to make IPad as close to a laptop experience as possible.

Not good parts (IpadOS limitations not in the scope):
1. Hi-freq sound Is subdued, and overall max speaker volume is much lower, compared to my Lenovo Yogabook 9i speakers. No doubt, due to the super-thin chassis that limits the speaker size. Most likely I will add external Bluetooth speakers as I don’t want to risk max volume tearing the speaker diaphragms.
2. Bending risk (chassis weakest near USB-C port), and fragility to drops (i.e. aluminium may get dented easily).
3. Only 1 USB-C port means need to buy dock for simultaneous charging and attaching other USB/Thunderbolt accessories.
4. Since I put a case on my Ipad and then on a stand, then another problem surfaces: the heat dissipation through the back Apple Logo is blocked significantly. This matters when the CPU runs highly intensive tasks and when the battery is being charged. The only solution I can think of is to expose the Ipad fully naked during such thermal situations.
5. Display looks grainy at distance < 30cm. I confirm this, but IMO, at such distances, you need >300 PPI, closer to 500ppi. Ipad Pro's displays are 265ppi. My normal viewing distance is greater than 30cm.

This M4 iPad complements my Yogabook 9i laptop which is weak in: HDR that just works, and drawing apps.

As most ppl have mentioned, I still agree IpadOS cannot be a replacement for Win or MacOS due to software support limitations. Hence, priority of spending should be on a good laptop first.

If you buy the Apple magic keyboard, you can charge your Ipad just by docking it? That’s the same convenience as wireless charging?

Yup the pass-through charging works this way, then it frees up the port on the iPad itself for connection to other peripherals such as external storage or Thunderbolt accessories, while still charging your iPad.

Any non-metal case will block the heat. I have not seen a case designed with heat conductive/metal backing to dissipate heat through the Apple Logo.
By right the metal body of the iPad should spread the heat

Hi guys, do you use your iPad Pro with external monitor?

I try to connect my M4 iPad Pro 11 to external monitor using USB-C to Display port cable, but ipad cannot detect the monitor and the monitor show no signal. The same cable works well with my Dell laptop. I tried the same using my old M1 iPad Pro and it has the same problem. I have a Mac Mini which connects well with the monitor as well.

Any thoughts?

If your monitor is been very long time, then it will not work. Mine 4years Phillip 18” that come with DVI-D just able monitor duplicate( not able to extent).
I bought the Prism+ (for office) & Samsung (for home), both able to extent

I think you can bring your iPad and the USBC to Prism show room and tell them you going to buy one online and want to test 1st.

I wonder if you use docking station or just direct connection like what i am doing? Want to try those small usb-C hub with HDMI but wonder if it is a waste of money to try.

Don’t know why TG screen protector for iPad Pro has a notch cut out, last time can fully cover. :s22:
