Came from mate 20x, bought an iPhone 11 based off reviews that it's the best iPhone to get.
Terribly disappointed with the phone.
- Missing many features android has, internet speed display, swipe to off screen, quick switch WiFi network, widgets
- camera is piss poor, the night mode cannot match Huawei at all and the day colours are muted. The wide angle camera quality isn't the best either. In a blind test I can easily identify the mate 20 pictures from the iPhone
- heating issue even when screen off in my pocket. Full charge at 1pm, very little usage and the battery is now 30%

I'll give it a week, if things don't improve I'm selling it

Anybody ever held an iPhone beside an android and noticed the fluidity of both? Because it seems to me like the android animations are more smooth than on the iPhone
I can detect the iPhone jittering especially at the start of the animation, eg open a program or call task manager. I don't notice it on android. Not very noticeable unless you are looking for it but my iPhone is brand new and my android has a lot of stuff on it. I didn't expect the iPhone to jutter ESP when it's still brand new

err... if everything is the same as 20x, then why bother to change phone? haha... try to get used to it. eg. when u move house, also need to get use to the new environment.

the battery is still new, need to condition it for a few days before it will stabilise. I can use my previous XS for a day still with 40% battery left, iPhone 11 has more juice, so it should be able to last even longer.

for the benefit of doubt, i'll let the phone recharge and test again tomorrow
otherwise i'll take a slow mo video and let you guys judge but it is very apparent that the animation smoothness is significantly better on mate 20 especially when you use both phones side by side

i think its something like lcd vs led, seeing a lcd by itself the screen is great and the colors are all great
seeing a led alone also gives the same results, great but not better than lcd
it is only when you put a led beside the lcd, you'll see that the difference is actually drastic

when using the iphone alone, i don't really notice the jutter unless i go looking for it but using the iphone 11 beside the mate 20, there is almost a night and day difference
its like when you play a game at 28 fps, that's the iphone.
on the mate 20, the game runs at 60fps, nothing wrong with it

edit:
i've checked online to find if others find androids to be more smooth than iphone and i found this article
https://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-can-never-be-as-smooth-as-iOS-myth-busted_id26252

perhaps it is true that android can be more smooth than iphone and my eyes are not playing tricks on me

I have been on iOS for years and I too have noticed that ios13 is not as “smooth” as iOS 12.4. But it is not a concern to me as Apple will keep enhancing the iOS. In fact ios13.1 is on the way.

Furthermore I noticed it when it was still loading my huge backup from iCloud. As of this morning, it already feels better

he came from android and he should know the difference between ios and android in terms of customization...

If u already stay with that particular eco system for so Long Liao why want to change?

The Apple store have no time restriction, mean you can test the phone until you are happy. You should have tested the phone first before committing.

Yes same for me too. It’s an occasional issue, hopefully will be solved when 13.1 launches next week.

It’s very normal for the first few days. The iphone will download a lot of things in the background if you restore from iCloud, and will index all of your data.

My battery dropped from 97% to 84% in 2hrs, without any usage at all

Some updates, the idle heating issue is gone. Really strange because I didn’t have anything in my iCloud to restore.
Using chrome makes phone warm though. I Guess Apple is pushing the limit of the manufacturing process it’s understandable

Animations are still the same, I still feel the animation jutter. I’m still getting used to iPhone at the moment so I can understand the os differences but I had thought I’d be coming into fluidity never seen before so that’s disappointing

Battery life seems ok, minimal use dropped from 84 to 71 since 7 in the morning. My android with heavy usage dropped from 91 to 55. Have been gaming on it so it’s understandable

When you have iphone, you will get itchiness to get android and vice versa.

For lumpyme, I don’t think that any trolls will waste time to pen off some many things just to troll.. enough of the fanboy mentality :)

Just tested it and same here. I’m guessing Instagram probably requires an update

anyone on iphone 11 / 11 pro / 11 pro max when using front cam on instagram it will keep stuttery every few second... other apps and camera app dont have this problem.

Try rollit from appstore

thanks! i think this is a much better option. i just bought the app and the transfers are faster than icloud option.

but whenever i move it to camera roll, it appears as the latest pictures under my Recents. anyway this can show on it's actual date the photo was taken?

Chrome no matter what heats up easily. Whether if you are on desktop or mobile devices.
