If you can get it for a steep discount, I would recommend XS Max and not the smaller XS. I won't recommend XS only because of the very small battery capacity.

Comparing XS Max to 11 Pro Max, below are the shortfalls,

1) Camera - No wide angle and night mode on XS series (night mode is available through paid for app)

2) Screen is brighter and "better" on the 11 series - I actually don't feel it is a deal breaker. The XS Max screen is very good in the first place and not lacking in brightness

3) Smaller battery than 11 - With close to a 25% bigger battery, it not unexpected the 11 Pro Max beats the XS Max. Still not a deal breaker for me because the XS Max can still last me 2 days of usage. I normally end the day with about 60% or more.

4) Processor - While it is faster on the 11 series, I actually don't feel it is a problem anymore. For both A12 and A13, there is nothing it can't run and honestly, both feels just as snappy.

In short, if you can get it for a steep discount, then go for it. If you are paying close to full price for it, then look elsewhere. The iPhone 11 is a better deal if you need to pay full price for the last gen models.
Thanks for the detailed comparison. I'm considering XS Max($959/$1039 for 256/512gb) via Reebelo website for second hand ones. They do sell IPhone 11 128gb for $1199. So it's also something to think about as well.

XS Max 512GB is very good price though I am not sure how reliable it will be if you get second hand. I recall in the current Hachi (Challenger online) sale, the iPhone XS 512 was going for 1139. It is a good phone, but I think you need to consider if you are fine with the lesser battery life. Check this out at the Hachi Tech Show.

Thanks, I actually asked them and was told that it comes with cable and charger. Just no earphones for hygiene purposes. But I'll definitely check with them regarding the battery left. :)

Update: battery life is between 85-100% with a 7 day return policy for replacement or refund..

Hi guys, I hope I could get some answers here, just switched to the iphone 11 pro max. It has been a good many years away from iPhone since iPhone 5S era. I am truly sorry if this questions are or sounds noob or sound so Android. Although I’m using the ipad, there are things that are different from the ipad. And in some instance I might bring the Samsung functions for reference.

1. Apple Pay, currently I have 3 cards, of which of the 3 I added 1 of the card into the express travel card for my daily commute. May I know how do I get the phone to work with the reader? I seems to “gahbrah” at the reader, when I tap on the reader, my screen shows a few cards. Is there a procedure on how to tap it? As for Samsung, I could just tap and go, no need wake screen or unlock phone. Is there a way on Apple Pay?

2. Apple Pay on merchant reader. When I making a payment, I just bring my phone to the reader, then all the cards pop out. And they asked me to double press the power button to pay or select other cards and double tap to pay. How do you all normally use the Apple Pay on merchant? I like cycle motto through the process. Lol

3. Is there any way to show the battery indicator without swiping down the top right corner of the screen? Or is there an app that can do so?

4. Is there a way to clear all notifications at one go at the notifications pull down? Rather than clearing 1 by 1?

5. How do you all close all the apps running at the background at one go? Or I do not need to worry about closing it?

1. express travel feature not available in sg. double press side button, face id then tap on the reader.

2. refer to point 1.

3. you can swipe right from home screen and add the battery widget if you do not want to swipndown control centre to view remaining battery.

4. there is a “X” button on the top right of your notification centre that you can tap then “clear” will appear.

5. don’t need to close background apps.

So far express travel card thing not available in sg.
Have to manually "double press power button", use faceid then tap. When go in / out at Gantry.

Go apple wallet. Hold and drag your card to the front to set as default.. (there will be a pop up indicating it's set as default. )

Double press power and scan faceid

No choice. That's the only way. Or view at the widget.

4. Is there a way to clear all notifications at one go at the notifications pull down? Rather than clearing 1 by 1?

Hold on to the X.

5. How do you all close all the apps running at the background at one go? Or I do not need to worry about closing it?

Can Google. Need Use assistive touch.
But you don't have to worry about this de

Wah, thank you guys for the fast response. Ok I will try the Apple Pay again when I get a chance tomorrow.

Guess the battery indicator no easy way to see it.

As for the notifications, I managed to get the clear all notifications.

Once again, thank you all!

Actually battery got easier way to see. But you need to have a Bluetooth headset or earpiece. You unlock the widget for batteries you can set the iPhone battery on your widget.

Thanks everyone, unfortunately this is the only phone I could get via installment. Maybe I'll get 11 in future. :o

Will do, the 7 day return policy will come in handy for me. Their hotline chat support is pretty good imo.

Just bought 11 Pro Max, 2nd day and my phone is having an issue. You all know in settings, if you scroll all the way down, there will be settings for all your apps? Just now mine all gone, the “additional settings” for all other apps are gone. And the apps are forced closing or not loading properly. Restarted the phone and everything is back to normal. I can’t restart the phone instantly, waited for like 5 min before phone lit up. Anyone faced this before? Only one time, hopefully the last.
