I never experience most of the issues which were raised in this forum (with the most ultimate one asking about ways of polishing hairlines off the phone’s metal edges... 😳 #itsjustaphoneforgodsake) *touch-wood*... nevertheless, my iPhone 12 Pro Max is already at half of its life cycle - another few more months to go before changing iPhone 13 Pro Max.

It's only Jan... Sept is 12S/13. You sure you already at half?

I haven’t escalate to Apple yet. Was thinking of checking it out and see if there’s others who had same issue. Combed through forums, googled for it and only you encounter the same experience as me. Probably wait for the next iOS update to see if it improves. Phone works fine for me so far
just observed this while going through forums online and thought of sharing it to you. Some users reported the same in the Apple community

This is the update they posted after working with Apple Support

I've spent MANY hours on the phone with senior advisors and engineers from Apple trying to determine if my phone or the software is causing this consistent problem. Once my iPhone 12 starts up, everything seems to be working fine (so far). I also went to my local AT&T store and restarted two iPhone 12s on display. BOTH started up without any flashing of the Apple logo. This made me a bit concerned about the long-term health of my phone. SO......I spent another 2.5 hours on the phone with both AT&T and Apple. Apple engineers had me run "analytics and improvements" under the "privacy" tab in "settings", only to inform me that there "should be no cause for concern".

What may seem unimportant to you may mean a lot to others. In any case, I’m sure you too have things that you value. That said, I don’t judge you; so why must you judge those who want to keep their phones pristine?

Thanks bro. Hopefully it’s really nothing too big of a concern. My phone is still working well. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Using. But interestingly, dings still developed at the trimming edges where the case isn’t able to cover.

You using original apple’s case ahh? Else some 3rd party cases covers up the edges quite well ehh... UAG and rhinoshield nubbad.

Just find it odd that the market reception to the mini has not been that good.

I always thought there was people (like me) who liked smaller phones. Am hoping that this year’s new iteration will include mini also.
It's the battery life and pricing that are the weaknesses. Batt life is only slightly better than SE but priced significantly higher. Of course, there is A14, 5G and a bigger screen, but with this pandemic, tightening belt is more important. Which is why I guess many would-be mini buyers may take SE instead and save SGD500+
