$300 more for pro right? $1 a day assume a year of usage at the minimum
If like that add another 0.50 a day can get pro max

If want save $ then dont try upgrade every year le...twice a year can see more improvements bah

Yes it’s Qualcomm instead of Intel now. Been known for a while bro.

Stability and reception will be significantly better.
The X55 modem does support of both Sub-6 and mmWave 5G, that mean Apple actually can release it globally but choose not to except USA that got the antenna cutout on the side of the new iPhone 12 series.

Can we say that the X55 modem is more than capable but Apple didn't include on for rest of the world perhaps to save some manufacturing cost of including mmWave antenna, additional cutout and disable the mmWave function of the X55 modem outside of USA.

Sadly X60 modem which is more power efficient with 5nm process instead of 7nm inside the X55 didn't make it in time for iPhone 12.

I dunno if I should buy a pro or non-pro... coming from an 11 pro.. sigh...
It depends whether you use your telephoto lens or not. If yes, go 12 Pro. If not, save some weight for the standard 12. Everything else is of little difference.

thoughts?

"“The iPhone 12 lineup is really only a worthy purchase if you're coming from an iPhone that you've had for years, like the iPhone X or prior. That way, the new features will actually be considered sizable upgrades rather than minor improvements.”

im going from an X to pro so i think is a big improvement

Very big for you bro.
I changed from X > XS Max (really bad upgrade)
XS Max > iPhone 11 Pro Max (Super big upgrade)

You jump from x > 12 sure very big for you!

I agree with you, they are blurring the lines between the normal 12 and the 12 pro series. Really good choice regardless of which you choose to go with.

Or simply, just keep with your 11 pro. It's still quite a good phone and one of the fastest in the market now. Camera feature you won't lose out much.. unless you need the night mode in ultra wide. The camera sensor in the 12pro is the same as ur 11pro now. If you want big jump, 12pro max or next yr iphone.

Still don't know how much better the 12 Pro Max will be in terms of camera yet... The camera improvements on the 12/12 Pro is really...incremental at best, in terms of stills (and not video).

If I were on an 11p, personally, I wouldn't switch. Very little point. 5G is nonsense, LiDAR is meh. The camera refinements and aesthetic changes are nice, but I ain't paying so much money for...nice. iPhones nowadays can use for a few years one, because the CPU is so powerful, plus Apple is so bladdy piecemeal with their upgrades.

Next year might bring TouchID, ProMotion, who knows. I just don't think jumping from a 11 to 12 is worth the cash.

Jumping from 11 to 12 might be worth simply because of OLED screen and a smaller body. Jumping from 11 Pro however is probably a waste of money for the reasons you listed.
