Ya, that's what I did. Unfortunately everything is messed up now

- google photos shows only photos from 2017 and before.

- I managed to retrieve whatsapp backup on icloud, but somehow it can only retrieve the backup from 4 months ago, even though I just backup'd fresh copy 5mins ago

- still can't use the phone to phone transfer coz her ip7 is using about 80gb, new ip12 64gb niah.

So far, can't say I'm impressed with ios. Looks good on the outside, but once you really start using it then all the minor details start to come out.

You had already stated the issue. Her iphone 7 using around 80gb but u bought a 12 that is only 64gb. Are you able to either reduce the storage utilization to less than 50 or upgrade to a 12 with bigger capacity?

General honest thoughts on iPhone 12/12 Pro.

Processor - Good.

Screen - normal. Nothing special in terms of resolution, panel type and refresh rate. Just changing to OLED throughout should not be something that needs special mention. Its the norm nowadays. Notch looks very dated.

Camera - Good.

Construction - Good but it seems that it scratches easily at the port?

Storage - Below average for 12. Average for the 12 pro. 64gb base storage on the 12 is dated. 128gb is the norm. Yeah, i know Apple always tries to make money from consumers on this. I won't mention expandable storage as Apple has never ever had it.

RAM - 4GB on the 12 is dated. 6GB on the pro is not great but in line with the times. My OS is more 'efficient' so you dont need more RAM should not be a reason. RAM is cheap these days. Again, just trying to make more money from consumers.

SIM - Average. It should really be dual physical sim like in HK. Not hard to do.

Port - Apple should make up its mind whether it wants lightning or USB-C. USB-C will be better and its a superior port to lightning. I guess they just want you to continue to buy their lightning accessories.

Battery - Bad. Even cheap android phones have 4000mah batteries. It is not difficult to do at all. Why are these flagship phones only having 2000+ mah batteries. Yeah, i already know the answer.

Pre-applied screen protector - There should be one pre-applied if there isn't one.

Magsafe - gimmick. There is already Qi which charges the same or faster. We just want you to buy our 'proprietary' one which has a magnet.

Box - no charger, earpiece in the box due to 'going green'. Half true. Mostly, its just i wanna find a way to make more money. Just like what alot of companies these days do and dont want to send you paper statements because they want to 'go green'. Nope, they want to save on postage and cost of envelopes/paper.

I don't think it's an OS problem. Google photos will display all your saved photos on your iOS device. You can call or initiate replacement online or through your iOS device (Apple store app). I don't think they allow replacement. You will have to return the device for refund and repurchase. Correct me if I am wrong. I would advise you to just book a reservation for a new phone then when the staff is attending to you, just return the current device with the staff that's attending to you. Apple's refund process is really quick.

You can still undelete the photos from your iphone right? Then sync back to your Google photos. Then sign out of google photos. Then you can delete all your iphone photos. Will shrink your backup size. You can see what occupies your phone storage the most and see where you can still save space. You can even delete more apps, specially those rarely used apps.

Go-to your iphone photos app. Click on Album tab. At the bottom there is a Recently deleted option. That's your "Recycle Bin" I believe it will house deleted photos within 40 days of deletion.

New phone is showing backups from old phone under storage. I tried to delete it but cannot.

The pro max for the new camera modules and sensor shift tech.

I still use Android more for media consumption(Manga, Youtube Vance,etc). My iphone mostly for games, office apps and other stuff.

How to delete iCloud backups on your iPhone or iPad

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap on your Apple ID right at the top. It should be the name you used to sign up for an Apple ID.

Tap on iCloud.

Tap Manage Storage under iCloud.

Tap Backup.

Tap the device whose backup you want to delete.

Tap Delete Backup at the bottom.

Tap Turn Off & Delete.

Provided he bought from Apple store. I don’t think there is a refund policy for those purchased elsewhere. If not, no one will sell the telco sets to phone shops and will “refund” with Apple for full price

That’s why I always pay for icloud. It’s not expensive at all.

One of my friend refused to buy iCloud and say he can back up to phone. One day, he lost his phone and months of data as it was too troublesome to back up

Since then, he guai guai subscribes and tells other to subscribe
