I don't think it's an OS problem. Google photos will display all your saved photos on your iOS device. You can call or initiate replacement online or through your iOS device (Apple store app). I don't think they allow replacement. You will have to return the device for refund and repurchase. Correct me if I am wrong. I would advise you to just book a reservation for a new phone then when the staff is attending to you, just return the current device with the staff that's attending to you. Apple's refund process is really quick.
I read the return policy that there's a 25% fee for opened boxes? Any idea if that's strictly enforced?

I did put a protective glass film installation but I assume that's easily removed

Go-to your iphone photos app. Click on Album tab. At the bottom there is a Recently deleted option. That's your "Recycle Bin" I believe it will house deleted photos within 40 days of deletion.

It's actually 30 days.

However if you also accidentally cleared the recently deleted album, try contact Apple Support they MIGHT be able to help you recover some pics.

How to delete iCloud backups on your iPhone or iPad

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap on your Apple ID right at the top. It should be the name you used to sign up for an Apple ID.

Tap on iCloud.

Tap Manage Storage under iCloud.

Tap Backup.

Tap the device whose backup you want to delete.

Tap Delete Backup at the bottom.

Tap Turn Off & Delete.

Tried this it doesn’t work. Thanks for explaining.

What made you decide to move from a 11 Pro to 12 Pro...?

Yeap.
Just go to plaza sing, tell them you want to buy applecare+ for <insert device type here> and thats it.

When its your turn, they will run diagnostic test pass liao, then go cashier pay. Thats it. No need receipt no need box. They will be able to see when is it activated and if you are within the 60 days window.

Hope this helps.

interesting, you just walked into A Lab to buy?

I'm also having significant issues with iCloud and photos (some user issues, some comp issues and just plain bad luck). Also, coming from a 6.5" android phone the 6.1 screen takes a bit getting used to. Faceid also a bit hit or miss..

I would say for the average casual user like me or older folks, probably a larger android phone is better buy.

However despite not being any good at taking photos, I'm surprised by the good quality of the shots I took of family etc. Definitely a big unexpected plus for me.

Back tap works reasonably well but sometimes when you put down the phone on the table a tad too hard, it will trigger SafeEntry :s13:

Heading out later so I’ll see what works the fastest, back tap to open up Control Center-> open QR scanner or tap power button and swipe right to open up safeentry widget

dun use e QR scanner. it won’t be able to save yr particulars since it opens up a private Safari tab. just use e camera app.

Screen size I think personal preference lah. I’m actually enjoying the smaller screen.

Had tried to use Google photos as a primary backup before, however to experience was not too favorable in iOS at least.

Paid for iCloud storage everything worked seamlessly.

2 cons here:
You are stuck with Apple eco system.
Your main photo album can be shared to other family members like google photos does.

Irony is I want to use iCloud but it's not working well at the moment. On the other hand I don't want to use Google photos but it is working seamlessly and I bobian have to backup somewhere. So it's Google photos for the moment until iCloud issue fixed
