It's not the StarHub sets for sure. It's the StarHub service. The phone doesn't search for LTE, but struggles to find the immensely crowded 3G base stations. Sucks.

ya, I can assure it also happens for Singtel.

When I was at F1, the 3G couldnt even be used at all!
iPhone5 heated up for no reason. I think due to the push services n notification services persistently trying to work despite the iPhone on full bar 3G!

hey guys, seems that after switching off 3g and just on 2g and also with the use of Whatasapp, battery does not drain too much.. you can try it..

which means to say, the signal in iPhone 5 is aggressively looking for 3G/LTE, therefore the battery life is badly hit..

just my observation.. will need you guys to turn on 2g to try it out with whatsapp..

92% - 10.03AM
85% - 10.29AM

I believe that whatsapp is the one draining my battery. Started using whatsapp at 10.03AM till now 10.29AM, battery drained 7%.

What about those using iphone 4 on ios 6? will they have the similar effect? just wondering

Anyway for all the M1 guys out there, I just went over to Paragon M1 and the guy who served me was quite nice to explain how the exchange for the iPhone 5 will go about.

He also advised on switching off some features under Privacy > Location Services > System Services. He mentioned that M1 have been communicating with Apple and the interim solution is to off those unnecessary options in the System Services.

As for the exchange policy, currently, M1 allows exchange for replacement sets. These replacement sets, as explained by the M1 CSO are NOT refurbished sets. They are merely normal brand new sets made by Apple without earpiece and charger, so that when customers make an exchange for the phone, there is no need to open a retail set that has the earpiece and charger as the exchange is only for the phone.

Hope that helps clear up some of the questions some have asked about RMA and the process.

Using whatsapp of course will drain battery, as every message sent and received is using data connection

My concern is, since whatsapp is not optimized yet for iPhone 5, does it drain the battery while on standby? (meaning in the background it keeps trying to connect to the servers furiously even though no incoming or outgoing messages)

Thanks for the explanation. Will try out this weekend and hopefully it'll work.

My wife iPhone 5 from SingTel only charge on alternate days. Morning 7:00am full charge, call taxi, receive one or two calls, Whatsapp and SMS during lunch time, evening a few more calls and SMS, at home play the fishing game. Next day continue and evening when reach home battery show 20%. She will plug in for charging while playing fishing game. She left apps running in background as she don't manage them but all notification for games are off. The background apps as many as 26, I am the one close them all on weekend.

She basically don't care about the battery and don't like big screen.

Please take note that signal coverage is important, if the signal is weak, battery will tend to drain faster which is normal. I have done some simple test on my iphone 5.

m1 user here

Day 1 12am-6am, 100% full charge with 3G turn on (3 bar), battery drop to 94%

Day 2 12am-6am, 100% full charge with airplane mode on, battery remain 100%

Day 3 12am-6am, 71% charge with airplane mode on, battery remain 71%

Posted earlier that those with overnight drop problems should try placing their phone in a place where there is better signal coverage. I suspect many put it on their desk or bedside table in one corner of the room where signal is bad.

Any way how come it's not charging overnight people?

Hello bro/sis ,
But why can't they offer a box contain the new serial number etc ?
So that the resell value won't drop .
