Not so much whether we mind carrying extra battery pack or not, it's a matter of actual battery life falling far far short of apple's claims and in fact also falling far short of battery life claimed by some reviewers. Can we or should we accept such a situation? I don't think so, especially apple has to date not acknowledged that there is an issue with ip5 battery life.

all manufacturer always give the best claim. same like car can go up to 200km/h but in actual life, it is never posisble to hit that speed. no matter which phone u buy is the same.

But this website says iPhone5 battery life fantastic le. Who's telling truth?

From Gsmarena:
When it comes to battery, the new iPhone 5 is definitely a solid step over the iPhone 4S. Retaining the same results as its predecessor would’ve been a great achievement considering the new more slender body of the iPhone 5, but doing even better, despite the larger screen is even more impressive.

Of course manufacturer always give the best, but when real life use falls far short then something is wrong no? Especially when many users are shutting down most of the functions such as Bluetooth, GPS, FaceTime, Sri, LTE, push mail etc and still not getting usage close to manufacturer claims.

So does it stops people buying iPhone 5? No...right?

same here, but i find my battery gettin ok. about 6hrs usage. quite intensive. light use can up to 9-10. including standby 25hrs.

If they have new sets instead of refurbished. then maybe i change.

Something I realized (but can't establish if its really just psychological) is that with about the same kind of usage (not much wifi, some whatsapp, some 3G surfing, quite a few text messages), my usage time seems to have gone up from about 6h to about 8 hours nowadays. Which is good enough by any standards.

just be patient. apple has quite a lot of releases this year, and the ios updates are taking some time. if the past is anything to go by, the combination of updates would help. not to forget, singtel's promise of better network can be a huge factor too.

yup i am still hoping that an update from Apple will improve battery life a little. Pointless to change another iphone right now.

i just cameback from bkk and there isnt any 3g or 4g and my phone battery last for 1 whole day without going pass 90%. i was texting and calling with my phone. i think LTE is the culprit that is draining the battery life.

i really hope apple would bring back the 2G option. or at least let the iPhone fall back to 2G when it is locked. this alone would drastically improve the batt standby.
