Dunno if this means anything but I just notice that if you try to search for whatsapp from App Store on iPad, u can't find it at all. Even if I chose the option to lok for iPhone apps, you only get a bunch of apps that is totally unrelated to whatsapp. Further more when I chose the option of whatsapp inc. as suggested when u type in the search box, there is no search results. Does this mean that 1) whatsapp is taken down prior to update or 2) whatsapp is no longer being developed?

Ya. I read somewhr on how to save battery life. The 'Guru' said: Turn off LTE, 3G (unless using), Push Mail, Siri, dont open Map, open Safari only if necessary, Turn off all notifications that are less important, turn off reminders and calendars, lower lcd brightness, etc

If the above is so, I'd rather use an iPhone 2G. Wtf. The problem is not about turning off all these and those so that I can have longer battery life. The problem is something which Apple needs to look into or discover and then release a fix if its with OS etc.

update to those still experiencing drainage & wanted to go m1 to exchange ..

I went for exchange today , it comes in a white sealed box , with the phone inside . The CSO told me for now it's not possible to get a refurbished set because it's only out recently however after a few months you might get refurbish sets if you 1 for 1 exchange . The one that we exchange for now is so-called "brand new i5 set aside for exchange" hence it does not come with the full box ( the earbus/charger/etc. )

Regarding battery tips , he also gave a slip of advice on how to prevent battery life from draining too fast .
CSO also said , regarding 4G/LTE , if not surfing the web/apps , turn it off . Just use regular 3G .

For those who feel the iphone 5 battery drains damn fast
Goto :Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System services ( scroll to bottom).
Turn off : Genius for Apps Location-Based iAds Traffic
Goto : Settings/General/Cellular
Turn off : iTunes/Passbook Updates/Reading List .
Reboot your phone .

Today my ip5 running very well, battery normal... 16 hour standby 6 hr usage now left 30% LTE all the way on, wifi on at home and out in the afternoon and even LTE tethering to my iPad.

Will continue monitor, today whatsapp lesser... and also today i hardly play with the phone, like unlocking it look and admiring the phone, just put in pocket or table... as per normal usage... I guess each time we unlock the screen and admire it or play with it... we are drawing power hence heating up the phone and also batt drain.

today went to exchange my iphone5 at m1 paragon. served by a guy called Kim. very friendly and nice guy. 1st set had 2 small scuffs, just asked if can change and he obliged. 2nd set was good and he even offered to transfer my screen protector and painstakingly removed all the dust and bubbles.

excellent service by m1.

Just curious why you decided to go for 1to1 exchange?

After a few charges my ip5 seems to have better batt life.. 4hrs usage 17hrs standby with 45% left...turned off LTE (cos 3g is fast enough & prevent myself from over shoot 2gb limit) and push mail. used fb twitter whatsapp frequently with a couple of phone calls..not bad imo..

batt consumption quite similar to my previous bb 9780

To turn off LTE when not in use and rely on 3G may not help much oso IMO...but of cuz better than nothing.
My reason(pls correct me if I'm wrong): 3G network here is generally still not as robust/reliable as the trusty 2G network. Which means generally we will get only 3 or 4 bars of 3G signal as compared to full bars with 2G at most places. Now, the iPhone will in turn consistently tries to search for better 3G signal. And in the process draining the battery so silently in the background.
Before 4G days, turning off 3G helps cuz the 2G network has been stable and provides full bars almost all the time. The phone thus is not searching ard for better signals...
Well unless providers improves the signal strength of all their 3G network, it's not gonna help us much in conserving our batteries.

Hello bro/sis ,
But why can't they offer a box contain the new serial number etc ?
So that the resell value won't drop .

In all honesty, I won't know. Well they have no obligations to help you maintain your resell value. They fulfilled theirs by exchanging our faulty phone with a brand new one. For that I think we should be contented.

i had similiar drain problem. 1% drain every 2-3min in not acceptable. It seem not limit to 4G as some friends of mine with 4s upgrade and some with ip5 set purchase only like myself also encounter this problem.
