How u all transfer old data in old phone to xr? Icloud or iTunes? My wife fried from last night till now still haven use her nee phone. Icloud only 5gb,mac also no space. Eventhou only 7xgb on old iphone

It depends where she back up her data at - iTunes or iCloud? Mine was via iTunes, it took me an hour for everything to be completed via iTunes. I thought the process was pretty straightforward for me. That said it also depends on how much data she has in her old phone.

Looks at the non-iCloud portion, I did for my friend before, very easy and fast. The old device must be iOS 11 and above, move the new un-setup iPhone close to existing iPhone and it will prompt you.

No. Just install iTunes on any pc. Disable auto sync.

And also suggesting to backup as an Encrypted Backup so that Wi-Fi passwords, health and Activity will be backed up and restored over.

Different Apple ID using family sharing. You can choose just to share iCloud an disable the rest like apps purchase etc.
