That's good news!! Waiting for Singtel to offer esim option.

You can store more than one eSIM in your iPhone, but you can use only one at a time. You can switch eSIMs by tapping Settings > Cellular > Cellular Plans and tapping the plan you want to use. Then tap Turn On This Line.

for people with only 1 number, it's better to have local number to be physical sim so changing devices won't be a hassle. we need other countries to have eSIM for their prepaid lines so it's super convenient to buy a local prepaid when travelling

That is true. Instead of a SIM card, they can allow us to add the profile as the prepaid SIM in a form of QR code!

Or just like T-Mobile in the US.

Yes and that's very cool. I have 2 E-Sim's and 1 physical sim in my phone. I just toggle E-sim on/off depending on the country I visit and off the physical SG Sim.
When return back to SG, toggle off E-Sim and start physical sim. So Simple and no need to change Sim cards. Personally I prefer E-Sim version than the HK Dual Sim.
More and More telco will be supporting E-Sim in the future. So looks more convenient.

This is my intention also, provided telcos support eSim. Like the red camp is gg.

Really surprising Red and Green still no eSIM despite them having support for Apple and Samsung watches previously. Wonder what's causing the delay.

Even if users wanna use it m1 is making it difficult and expensive to get onto it. No incentive to get onto esim. Charge $30+ and $5+ to redownload a profile.

I am using Esim for m1 and physical Sim for TPG (free 2G data daily but only bad is underground no line).

Next iphone will be around Sept this year, dont think it'll be that long. Internet rumors the next ios update is ios 12.2 that'll coincide with new ipad releases in March. Let's see whether the red and green can catch up with just a quarter of a year delay.
