iPhone XS Esim question

Sms works the same as normal, you'll see a tag to indicate which line its coming from.

How do the SMS work? What if sms arrives for the secondary sim (not designated as the one for calls)? Would there be an alert? Or do I have to activate the secondary sim before I see it?

Just got my m1 esim to add 30gb to my phone as I am still under contract under starhub and it will cost me more than the monthly $25 to break my contract.

Works like a charm although I must say that when they requested for my Apple ID password for activation, it nearly freaked me out. My password was in the 1password app and I couldn't remember. Had to use another phone to pull out the password from my iCloud

I’m also using e Sim on my XS Max. My XS Max doesn’t have any physical SIM card installed. Only e Sim . Have been using it for 8 months and I will say it’s good

I am using both Sim and esim now. Am happy with the combo. Will have to pay the $5 to change to the new iPhone when launched but will use it till then

Is not a decision for Apple to make alone.

If not all telcos worldwide can support it and apple does it, it will also kill off Apple.

2020 sounds too near for such drastic change to take place

Telcos are already moving to eSIM and Apple is always the market shifter in terms of new technology. Only Singapore is slow in transiting to eSIM.

They can always come out with physical SIM models for specific markets like in China to counter this change but slowly China will move to eSIM too because they can control better with Digital ID.

Don't forget Apple is so much bigger than telcos alone.

I still feel its the exclusivity rights M1 has for 1 year. If this is the case we'll be seeing red and green offering esim options in nov/dec time frame.

You can install WhatsApp and WhatsApp for business on a single Sim phone. Two numbers.

I don't have eSIM on my XS Max, you've to ask those who have M1 eSIM.

Pretty fast n simple
