Let me share another example, my Sis iP14PM, after a year of usage, it was sold away with 100% Battery Health.

She followed my method, battery don’t fall below 30%, and charge only to 85% max.

She only use Apple MagSafe charger connected to Belkin 40W dual USB-C charger.
That’s for sharing.
I think one Info we didn’t Get from most users is what apps they use and how long and how hot their phones gets to. Because the constant heat up will put the battery under more stress as well.

This ps jacket got support when drop meh? Looks like 3mm thinness those type. Prevent scratches only.
I like that it is cut off with no button so easier to press.
Unless another safe option for me is the mous case, which also can’t find in any shop now.

So you have to constantly monitor if the phone is charging beyond 85%? That is so cumbersome

We don’t usually monitor, it just so happen that whenever we took the phone off the MagSafe charger, it’s either in the range of 80% to 85%.

I mean, no one will go to the extreme of sitting beside the iPhone observing the charge status.

Actually there is an iOS Shortcut to write the timestamp to a Notes log files when the phone’s charge level is =/GE/LE a certain percentage. Very useful to time how long various chargers take without literally staying by the charger to monitor.

To extend your battery lifespan , there’s a choice in IOS 17 battery that can be selected.

Just set maximum charge to 80%.

When the phone battery reaches 100%, usually over overnight continuous charging , and the charger continues to charge it, this will damage the battery cells.

Basically as long as you don’t let the battery reach the extremes of either 0% or 100%, the battery lifespan can be extended.

There will still be some inevitable battery wear and tear but it will be slowed down .
I think even the older option, “optimised charging”, will help right? Cos it’s supposed to learn your usage patterns & only just nice top up to 100% when you’re open to pick it up & disconnect charging…

So far all my old ugreen and baseus cables work.
Talking about this…do you all find the USB-type-C port of the iPhone 15 a bit weird/loose/have some play when the cable inserts?

Like the cable can easily insert into the phone & only tightens at the very last “point”?

It’s quite different from the feel of connecting the same cable to a MacBook for example.

Yes, it does help, but to a limited extent only.

The problem with Optimised Charging is that although it tries to delay your phone charging after 80% is reached, there are many times when I wake up, and discover that the phone had already reached 100% and had continued to charge for a few hours, when I was still sleeping.
So the battery was still being damaged whilst I was asleep.

Don't have to be exactly 85%. 90 something percent is still okay.

The trick is not to keep charging your phone, when 100% is reached.
It somehow damages the battery cells.
