I ORD in October 2010 and therefore was in the old system for the next two years until my birthday. That was my first window. According to ns.sg, if I fail ippt on the old system and require RT, once I transit, I will get the option of converting. I've seen some people posting up a screenshot of that.

I did fail my first window's ippt but there was no convert button nor do I receive any sms telling me that. What I see on ns.sg was just asking me to book IPPT as usual, telling me if I need extra training book IPT. The deadlines for IPT and taking IPPT are all there. The RT button is also disabled.

Should I just proceed as normal or call up the hotline to check? If don't need convert or do RT, then I will just book my IPT sessions liao.

Just call ns.sg to be on the safe side.

Hi guys, to share my experience. If you have never passed IPPT before or always on the border line or RT regulars, middle age, obese or overweight, read on.

If you go for any IPPT/RT just do what your best to pass, if you know you cannot pass, DO NOT FORCE YOURSELF EVEN IF THE PTI are pushing you. Just get ready to go for any IPT/RT. Even at IPT/RT also do not force yourself, just do your best.

If you happen to feel any pain, EVEN SLIGHT PAIN or feeling not comfortable, go report sick before you outpro. Don't just gan cheong to outpro and go home, once you outpro and step out of the camp, they do not hold any liability to any injuries even it was inflicted during the training.

Also never trust the MO words for real, even if they says you are fit. Seek a second professional advice. No matter how much you cannot afford to go for one, you should try by all means (borrow/beg/st#@!) to go for it.

My experience was after RT session, felt slight cramp/pain on feet and did not care about it, thinking that it is normal after a hectic run. But i was wrong, when i went back home, the cramp get slightly worse. Well just think that its just muscle cramp, just apply medicated oil. But next morning was bad, i have this intense pain that i have never felt before, for a while. And it get bad to worse after few weeks, the pain is there at night, making me hard to sleep. Morning was worse, can't even stand up. If you do not know how the pain feels, take a crushed granite chip of 10mm, stick it on your shoes where the heels falls on and walk on it, from say scotts road to Dhoby ghaut.

During the FFI, the MO told me that i am fit to run, as he says that this is a very common problem and would go off after some time, okay trust his professionalism, so go for run. But the pain get even worse until the stage where i get morning cramps, pain in the heel for hours that i cannot even walk properly. For months, i have been tiptoeing. After seeking specialist advice, was told that running MAY cause it to get worse. And for fulfilling my duties, following the orders from PTIs and their training regime, for trusting the MO, what i get in return was pain in the heel every day and night, especially walk or stand for long period. And it is affecting my life, work, sex, time, money and etc. Treatment are not cheap and i do not see tremendous result after the treatment. And best of all, i get charged for not completing my RTs. Sub issues that cause the default is that i cannot afford to get specialist treatment, need to save up for few months to get specialist treatment. Well what to do? LL.

Well guys buck up and take care of yourself.

don't say MO la... even government orthopedic specialist also the same.

last time during NS got referred me JMC orthopedic cos prolonged back pain.

the orthopedic took an x-ray and conclude that it is just a back strain. tell me no issue don't worry, can continue with all your army stuff.

took me a year and 4 appointments before i managed to convince the orthopedic that it is definitely not just a case of back strain cos the back pain stayed there non-stop for a year.

he did an MRI scan for me and conclude that it is a slip disc.

funny thing is that i went to see some random neighbourhood chinese physican and he just press and rub my back a little and already concluded that i got slip disc, don't even need MRI.

sometimes don't just blindly believe what the doctors say cos they always take the optimistic approch to diagnosis and no one knows your body's condition like you do.

Guys I need some advise here...

I'm having my ICT and RT concurrently...

On Thursday, I took my RT
On Friday, I'm taking my ICT-IPPT
On Sat, I've another appt for RT..

If you look at the above, there is NO ONE DAY REST in between.

I checked with Unit, FCC and NS hotline.. all gave me different answer and was directed me from one to another..

Based on your experience and best knowledge, will I be exempted from 1 RT session, which is taking place on coming Sat? Meaning, instead of completing 20 RT session, I will have to fulfill only 19 session instead.

Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

B'day on 15th January.

I defaulted my first IPPT so I got $50 fine.

Then it became RT which I also defaulted and got $100 fine and also got to do RT.

My window closes 14th Oct 2012 which is tomorrow and having only completed 5 IPT sessions since I was insanely busy with school with all my mid years both before and after recess week, I decided to just go ahead and book over the phone an IPPT session on the 13th which is today.

The woman told me over the phone that the 4:30 slots are taken up so is the 7:30 slots ok?

I told her ok and that was it. Turned up at Bedok camp just now extra early to get ready for it. Reached there at 6:45 pm only to realize the stadium lights all turned off and people leaving and packing up.

I was like omg gg, don't tell me 7:30 means 7:30 am and not 7:30 pm.

I used my phone to check online and true enough, its booked 7:30am and not 7:30pm. I got the timing mixed up.

Honest mistake here but I think I'm gonna get charged for the 3rd time for sure and I called up the NS hotline and the helpdesk lady said that to me.

So I wrote in an appeal letter to contact @NS.sg and they say its gonna take 14 working days.

What do you guys think? Should I also call up my unit on Monday to explain and appeal?

I don't wanna go DB sia. On top of that must do 20 RT sessions during my exam period wtf...

won't get charged as ippt defaulter cos your 1st ipt session which is also your ipt-ippt is counted as one ippt attempt.

just complete your 20 rt sessions within your 3 months and you will be fine.

and you seriously need to manage your time better... 10 ipt sessions within 9 months also cannot complete!

Hi guys. I did not attend my first IPPT last year and was charged $50 and had to book for IPT there and then. I did not attend IPT and was defaulted 20 RT sessions and I have to complete by 1 November 2012 which is not possible now. I haven't attend a single RT session. What will happen if I don't attend it at all? I know will be charged but how serious will it be considering I don't have any good reasons to provide? Will I be fined higher than $50 or could it possibly be DB? Please advise. I know I should have gone for the sessions but hope to start anew.
