Wow thats a lot of scoobie juice, how much did that cost you to send over? =:p

The whole parcel including a scooba tank, brush unit replacement kit and 5 scooba juice weighs abt 7.5kg - 40USD - or SGD$55.22. I believe bulk of the weight is for the scooba juice and I didn't get free domestic shipping fr irobot, only 15% discount off accessories. :)

first of all, i m using scooba 340 fr hsn.com, but i understand last update was that it's out of stock. price wise, it's more worth it than a scooba 350 or 380. It was able to go on 2 mission (2 tanks of water, approx 1.5hrs) on a single charge. Even if there's stock, purchasing fr hsn is tricky, I think you wld need a US credit card.

Buying from Amazon and irobot will be easier but price might be higher and they won't have a Scooba 340, which is a HSN exclusive.

To ship you purchases from US, you will need to have a vpost USA, comgateway or borderlinux account with one of the local bank's credit card. When making purchase, just enter either one of these forwdarder add in the shipping details, and it will be send to there fr the US merchant and delivered to your sgp add.

Btw, I wld say scooba is rather noisy, can't really watch tv when it's running. at least not in the same rm. Hope these help. :)

also it doesnt come in 220v and i have to buy some adaptor thing?!
and the clorex solution i cannot replace with normal household ones?

i'm thinking of buying a vacuum and a mop one to help my mother clean the house
but all at one go dunno worth the investment :(

odering from usa and send to vpost or comgateway or borderlinx is quite easy.

:o just buy a $30 240v to 100v tranformer from hardware store will do.

no need any clorex solution for all scooba models except 5900 which is already not in production. Just tap water will do.

It may be a little of a hassle to order from overseas but the savings is certainly worth it. U just need to buy a step down transformer to use the 110V US models in Singapore. Its only going to cost u around S$20+. As for the cleaning solution, who says u cant use normal household ones? Only the older 5900 Scooba needs the Scooba Clorox solution. The newer 5800s, 340s, 350s and 380s all can run on normal household solutions like MagicClean, KiwiKleen, etc. You can even use plain water if u so prefer.

Whether its worth or not really depends on how u justify it. The cleanliness is superb, something u cannot achieve with yr normal mop and bucket.

Time to stop putting it off.. It took 2 years for me to finally buy a roomba/scooba set and I can tell you that it was well worth the money. Ask any of us here and you'll get a whole lot of positive responses :s13: and some of us like me, become dependent on these creatures (duno if that is positive or not :s8:)

Ordering from overseas is a little scary, i think the most scary part is when the robot arrives and it is not working. Like mosmos and thewiseone said, voltage issue is easily solved with a stepdown transformer.

Your mother is gonna love it, when I brought it back for her (in malaysia) she simply can't live without it cause the floor is so much cleaner than a normal vacuum.

So.. start looking at ebay, amazon, hsn, woot etc for new members to your family and send them via vpost USA, comgateway or borderlinx to help reduce some of your postage costs. Go noww! :D

normal mop and bucket cannot, but roman mop and bucket sure beat it if you have Roomba running everyday :D I find that scooba's floor can't last long in terms of cleanliness...dunno why. Maybe too clean? making the floor "unstable" and ends up attracting dirt faster?

Nothing can beat iEcologi (but of course not at its price....) steam + vacuum.....for really clean up the floor....

150sqm?? you meant need 2......sets of batteries for Scooba.

Roomba....2 sets....if not can't cover....but it depends on your furnitures layout too....maybe you have to split your house into 2, so 1 day vacuum 1 side.....only

parquet? that's a cause for concern.. I read that scooba could weaken the glue because it sprays water. I used mine on parquet before, but only once a week (bit scared the parquet start to warp and come out). i'm not sure how big is 150 sqm, but i used scooba 5800 (old model) on 3 rm hdb, but have to run it twice to cover the whole plc properly.

not sure abt your flooring type. :s22:

best buy is this hsn.com scooba 340, can cover 850sq ft. :o

340 = 380, except 1 less virtual wall + no external charger.

ordering from hsn.com also has some problems for us, some can process thru', some order rejected. :s22:

I would caution against parquet too. I used mine on it before, I feel dampness after that,,I am afraid it may not be good in the long run too...

see you want to save cost or want peace of mind loh. i bought my scooba 380 from the local distributor for lesser hassle and peace of mind. 1 year warranty for the machine and 1/2 yr warranty for the battery and the universal power adapter. can take back for internal cleaning if you think the inside non-user-serviceable parts are dirty during the 1 yr warranty period.

if your house is not super dirty with lots of dust, hair and fur, the scooba can vacuum and clean at the same time. my house got a dog, i just pick up the visible fur flying around and let scooba do the rest. the rest of the fur and hair gets trapped by the filter inside, which is easy to take out and clean. i'm using magicclean with mine, works very well. just put a tiny bit can already.

it is very useful, now no need to burn time to mop floor already. just let scooba run when go out to work, at night come back spend 5 mins clean it can liao. your mom will thank you for it.

wah. parquet i think might spoil the floor cos it leaves a damp trail behind. a scooba 380 can run for about 45 mins on 1 tank. then can refill the tank and run for about another 35 mins before the batt goes flat.

on the contrary, i think scooba is ok for sealed floors like parquet. if the quality of laying and sealing is good, the floor should be flat and smooth enough tat not much dampness remains like what happens with tiled floors.

even if still damp, sealed floors should not allow the water to seep in and warp the wood. it is laminate floors which have to be very careful. i always make sure to run through with a dry 3M mop to absorb as much water as possible
