Intel 18A will be the make-or-break for Intel and I tend to believe that they will make it.

Asus ftw! Another apex for intel

I realised arrow lake is 3nm! A bit better than zen5 4nm, seriously i think intel can win this round convincingly for the good of gamers!

OMG I just updated my MSI bios a few hours ago to version x125. And then today, MSI released the new bios x129
now i need to re-configure my OC settings for x129 wth. LOL

I am still going to keep my current bios for the moment since I'm running static voltages plus I think those on high memory speeds like myself running 8600Mhz custom timings and voltages may want to hold off untill people test this new bios further. New microcodes usually means you have to rework your ddr5 voltages and timings. If you're just XMP, then I don't see a problem with moving to this new bios. Just something to think about if you're running such speeds and tighter timings over XMP.

I will try to use the new bios right now, and as you mentioned yes I am running it on xmp settings, which are extremely simple and user-friendly. I hope there is nothing wrong with the new bios, but it is a beta version, and if it does not work well, I will roll back to the old bios.

i think you guys need to share the fix in bigger forums , most people would not touch the default settings.

actually most people dont even update their bios.. or even browse internet in regard to PC lol.. i know quite a couple who just buy the highest end intel CPU, and Nvidia GPU whenever they build PC.. I know these people for over 20 year, they dont care about research all that.

Intel CEOs and their mishaps:

Brian Krzanich 2013-2018
- Chemistry
- Intel process engineer
- Diversified Intel into 5G wireless, wearables, VR, AI (but focused on CPU approach).
- DEI initiatives
- "Consensual relationship with an Intel employee” in violation of corporate policy

Bob Swan 2019-2021
-BBA & MBA (omg!!)
- CFO training (bean-counter!!)
- Emergency parachuted in by Intel board members to replaced Krzanich.
- Did two corporate acquisitions for AI (still CPU approach).

Neither of the two CEOs were able to identify and fix the delays in fabbing their CPUs for 3 generations. So basically those CEOs failed Intel in the sense they diverted Intel's resources and attention to other things that don't matter in the long run.

Board members are also to blame. They all biz-focused only (i.e. no semicon technical expertise).

With Pat Gelsinger now back in charge, Intel is gunning to be the first fab to roll-out sub-2nm CPU with high-NA EUV lithography by 2027. In the meantime, Intel just have to make do with their existing fab processes lagging behind TSMC.

I hope my 12700k can last another 3 more years till 2027 and skip all the in-betweens. My previous Intel Core Q9450 and i5-4670k each lasted more than 10 years.
