If in Sg normally 2 pax we eat between $60 to $90 for some bento/sashimi, in Japan how much should I be expecting if I order our normal selection?

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant
Shabujo "http://shabujo.com/NewMenu/index.html"

Thanks! Will look into it.
The shabujo website seems to be in japan.. i tried translating it but most of the buttons are still in japan.. Kinda hard to understand.. :X

Have you personally been to the restaurants before?

I've been to the Gyu-kaku at Shinjuku. It was about 3k+ yen for like 1.5 hour buffet. Compared to SG's price, it's probably a lot cheaper and it's awesome to eat bbq in cold weather.

Yup, it's all you can eat. You do need to let the staff know what do you want to order then they'll bring it to your table. I went in a group of 4 so I don't know if the minimum of 2 is required.

Any recommendation of foods to eat... snacks and tidbits to buy in hokkaido?
I already got a list of to-buy-items, but will still like to ask.

Thanks!

tendon - hannosuke

tendon with a whole anago, 2 prawns, scallop/squid and egg

i came on a sunday and it may have been a big mistake. crazy que at 1015 which led me to come back at 4pm. even then the que was still crazy and i was crazy enough to que and i ended up waiting 2.5 hours for this. at less than 1,000 yen it is definitely worth it and much better than the tendon you can get at tenya but for a queing time this long is definitely not worth it. not sure how it would have been on a weekday but i can say the que was much shorter when i left around 7pm probably less than half of that at 4pm.

天丼 金子半之助 - 三越前/天丼・天重 [食べログ]

they have 2 other branch but this is the only one open on sunday

We tried this during our trip to Tokyo on Nov 2014. Unbelievably good. We queued for 30 minutes at around 4pm. It has to be the best & best for value tempura we have ever tried.

Just came back from Tokyo. On the SQ flight back, they gave a piece of rice cracker with my meal. It was soooooo yummy that I had to Google it. The brand name is amanoya and the one I had was blackish in color and called AMANOYA KODAIMAI SENBEI (amanoya ancient rice cracker)

This trip I ate:
Konaya curry udon (must eat with the Fried banana) at Ikebukuro branch

Ten Ichi tempura at shinjuku isetan branch (expensive but sooooo delicious)

Pomme no ki omelette rice at Harajuku branch

Manneken waffle at ginza branch

Soufflé with strawberry sauce at HOUSE TEA α CARMEL on 12F Takashimaya Shinjuku

Tenya tempura (Akasaka mitsuke branch steps away from my hotel)

You know u are a Japan addict when you come back from your trip and immed start to do research for place to go And eat for next trip ******************

Dorayaki @ Usagiya. Pretty good and gets sold out before noon.

Sweet potato tempura @ Kondo Tempura, PM Abe's alleged first choice (instead of Sushi Jiro) when he hosted Obama.
