Thanks. I think i'll spend 2 days in Nikko as i'm rather slow hahaha. Do you think it's a good idea to move from Nikko to Narita straight away?

Day 10: Kyoto to Nikko
Day 11: Nikko back to Narita in evening
Day 12: Expore Narita area and check-in for flight

if u dun have any plans for Tokyo, then it is ok to go straight to Narita. but I dunno wat is there at Narita coz I have not been there before. wat time is ur flight from Narita?

for day 2, be prepared to queue at sushi-dai. suggest u go early in the morning and eat at some other sushi store in tsukiji, then head straight to Disneyland. coz the queues at Disneyland is going to be long as well, and u will need the entire day for Disneyland.

for Sapporo, maybe can visit Odori park to see Sapporo TV tower, and then go Susukino for the ramen street

I find the itineraries in japan-guide too packed. will be a quite touch-and-go if u were to visiting every places in day 4. suggest u priorities and skip some places if u dun have enuf time. also note that the sun sets quite early during autumn/winter. sky will be dark ard 5pm. so u will have a lot less time for sightseeing

I have not visited Himeji, so cant commend on that. maybe u want to visit mount rokko last so u can stay till after dark to see the night view, which is one of the top three night view in japan

Hi evilerniex,

Need your suggestion on my proposed itinerary for a 12 Day (or 13 does not matter) trip to cover Tokyo, Nagoya, Takayama, Kyoto (+ Nara) & Osaka.

I have previously covered Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo on a packaged tour a few years back. For this trip, I would like, in particular to see the Autumn colors in Kyoto and check up on Nagoya and Takayama. And on arrival, I would like to spend a few days in Tokyo before moving West.

I intend to book my flights to arrive at Haneda (9.35 pm), visit Tokyo for a few days; and on the last day, either from Osaka or Nagoya, to proceed straight to NRT (8.50 pm) for my return flight to SIN.

You have earlier given me some useful information on another thread, but now, I would prefer to arrive and depart from Tokyo. My travel dates are from last week of November to first week of December.

Thanks again and best regards

Hi everyone,

Would like to get some advice.

1st Day (Reach apartment at 5pm): Explore Shibuya (because i stay near)

2nd Day: Harajuku, Ghibli Museum (2pm), Shinjuku

3rd Day: Either going Kamakura, or visit Edo-tokyo museum & Sumo match

4th Day: Ueno (Tokyo national museum), Asakusa (Sensoji Temple, Sanja Matsuri) , Akihabara (Kanda Myojin)

5th Day: Move to Hiroshima - Explore Hiroshima

6th Day: Use whole day for Miyajima

Will it be too rushed?

a possible route will be:
tokyo -> nagoya -> takayama -> kyoto -> osaka -> tokyo

to save on transport cos, u can get a 7-day JR pass. but u will need to cover nagoya, takayama, kyoto and osaka within 7 days.

however, i think 13 days is too short to cover so many places. it will be better to focus on a few places. 13 will be just right for kanto+kansai (tokyo, osaka, kyoto). alternative, u can do kansai+chubu (osaka, kyoto, takayama, nagoya)

day 2 may be a bit tight for harajuku coz there is meiji shrine, yoyogi park, takesh!ta-dori and omode sando. but of coz u dun have to visit all the places.
other than tt, i think ur itinerary looks ok

hi guys, i wish to cover osaka, kyoto (friennd is staying there) and tokyo in that order. flexible number of days to go, from 1 week to 2 weeks.

how many days would u allocate to each? and is it a trouble if i dun speak any japanese language at all? im prolly gg solo

is there a need to plan in advance alot of details or can i just do minimal planning, book air tics and accom and do on the go?

I like the idea of of Kansai + Chubu ( SIN-NGO-SIN ) and to drop Tokyo for another day. Appreciate the refreshing advice.

number of days i think i answered in another thread.

i also dun speak jap, but managed to survive a few trips already. maybe just remember a few common phrase such as for asking directions. or have a translation app and get data plan

amount of planning depends on individual. some prefer planning down to the last detail, others like to keep it simple and go with the flow.
i think it will be good to at least plan how to get from one place to another, especially between cities or to places outside city.

Hi evilerniex

I am finally down to deciding on my itinerary as follows:
Flight : SIN-NGO-SIN Travel dates Last week November to Early December (11 Days)

Day 1 Takayama (proceeding straight since I arrived at 8.40 am in NGO)
Day 2 Takayama (+ Shirakawa-go daytrip)
Day 3 Nagoya
Day 4 Nagoya
Day 5 Kyoto
Day 6 Kyoto
Day 7 Kyoto (+ Nara daytrip)
Day 8 Osaka
Day 9 Osaka (+ Hemeji daytrip)
Day 10 Nagoya (staying in Nagoya as it near to Chubu Centrair cos my flight at 10.30 am following day)
Day 11 Return

Rail and Bus pass
--------------------
Shoryudo 3Day pass for Chubu Centrair Airport, Takayama, Nagoya.
Kintetsu Rail Pass Wide for Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Chubu Centrair Airport.

My main purpose is to enjoy the scenic autumn colors, the temple shrines and food, but less of shopping and NO plans to visit Universal Studio in Osaka.

Is my itinerary doable and do you have any further tips to offer?

Much appreciated on your assistance.

Thanks :)
