You can consider getting Tokyo Wide Pass. 10k yen for 3 consecutive days. One day to Kawaguchiko area, one day to Karuizawa will get back your 10k and with lots of saving. For Karuizawa ride you will get a 1h10min kick of an shinkansen experience. :)

Asakusa is not just about Senso-ji. It's the only famous temple there. There's Kappabashi, Nakamise-Dori, and nearby there's Tokyo SkyTree and Tokyo Solamachi. Your choice.

i just leave it out the first (reach) and last day (fly off)..i plan from 2nd day onward.

Yah, use hyperdia to check train route
U dun need jr pass.
If u are going hakone and kawaguchi, u may want to stay a night and use fuji-hakone pass. If going as 2 day trips then cant use tt pass.

hokkaido self drive 14 days

Hi,

I am planning to visit hokkaido in Oct (autumn season). I am planning 14 days trip.

Below is the place that i will visit. I will skip furano since during autumn there is no flower to see.

Is it make sense for me to fly to hakodate and drive upward.

hakodate, lake toya, noboribetsu, chitose, sapporo and otaru

Alternatively, I am also looking forward to drive from sapporo to Hakodate on day 1 then slowly return to sapporo via lake toya route.

which part of Oct will you be there? I will be doing 1 week driving from end Sep till beginning of Oct. But spending more time at the central as we are hiking there.

fly to hakodate and drive upwards will be better. coz it is a long way to drive from sapporo hakodate to and back again.

for kawaguchi, u can take highway bus from shinjuku (1750yen one way).
then for hakone, use the hakone free pass from shinjuku (5140yen).

bro,

does hakone = chance to take the bullet train :o

i read they mention Odakyu Limited Express "Romancecar"..dun noe does that imply speed is limited or nt

yes, u can take shinkansen from tokyo or shinagawa station to odawara. however, the shinkansen is not covered by the hakone free pass or any other passes, except the 7-day JR pass, which is not worth it for ur case.

limited express trains are those that stops at very limited stations, which means they are faster. they are the second fastest, after shinkansen.
see here for different type of train:
