Thank you!

Was searching around online for some comparisons, some liken Umeda to Orchard Road, and Namba to Bugis - both are very accessible just that the latter is less pricey for accommodation which can be pivotal given I'm doing 8 night stay
Umeda will be more accessible for making trips to kyoto and kobe.
Yah, umeda is more of big big malls, while namba have more smaller stores. But both are great for shopping and eating.

Guys guys, need help!

Ever since I made the booking for my Sakura trip in Oct, I have yet to make any planning

I'm arriving at HND on 1 April 18 at 2150 hours, and departing HND on 10 Apt 18 at 1705 hours.

The plan is to catch the Sakura full blossom early in the morning on 2 April.

I am trying to change to a earlier flight for the arrival flight, so that my wife can do some walking around, before turning in early. If it's not possible, we'll just rest when we arrive at the hotel (but which hotel or AirBNB)

can someone advise and share a itinerary for a 9 days trip? is it possible to squeeze Kyoto and Osaka into these 9 days as well?

Better secure your hotels soon. Especially the weekends, many are already full.

Tons of sample itineraries for you to refer in HWZ forum and other sites via Google.

You could always do 5-4 or 6-3 (Tokyo-Kyoto/Kansai) for your trip, if it's not your first trip. If it's your first, I suggest just stay in Tokyo for all nine days.

Hi! Are there any recommended tour agencies for Japan? It will be our first visit to Japan and we have kids with us so we were thinking joining a tour as it seems less daunting than having to organise and plan everything by ourselves.

Guys, I’m going for a 9D8N trip in late March. Will be arriving and departing from Haneda. My plan is to go to Tokyo and Osaka. Worth it to pack in a day or two to Kyoto?

JTB, HIS Travel, Apple Vacations, Follow Me Japan and a few others.

Where are you heading to? If it's just one city, DIY. It's not that hard to get around in big cities. Signage are in English and information kiosks (in malls and major stations) have English and Mandarin speaking staff on duty.

Your trip, your choice. And also depends on your main objectives. Are you heading to the theme parks USJ and TDR? If yes, probably not.

Have you secured your hotels? Might not be easy to secure lodging over the weekends.

Hi all,
I am a little confused with Japan's train system.
I am intending to take Nozomi train from Osaka(KIX) airport to Tokyo, i believe the whole duration will be 2.5 hours right?
Is there any timetable to track the frequency of the train for both Nozomi & Hikari?

Sorry for being ignorant:(

guys, how should I use the JR Pass?

do I start using it when I am going to another province?

i'll be there for 10 days, and will be getting a 7 days JR Pass.

Below is a itinerary sample from Japan-Guide.com

I am thinking of going to Harajuku on Sunday to check out the youngster, is it worth the trip?

I'm arriving on 1st Apr Sunday late, doubt I will get to see anything. Hence, am thinking whether to come back to Tokyo on 8th, the following Sunday.

Can anyone advise?

Day 1 - Arrive at Narita Airport and spend the rest of the day in Tokyo.

Day 2-4 - Tokyo with sidetrips
Spend three full days in Tokyo with one day spent on a daytrip to nearby Nikko. Also consider one of our suggested Tokyo itineraries.

Day 5 - Tokyo to Kyoto
In the morning, travel by shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto (3 hours). Spend the afternoon and evening exploring Kyoto.

Day 6-8 - Kyoto with sidetrips
Spend three full days in Kyoto. Consider one of our suggested Kyoto itineraries. Take a daytrip to nearby Nara and a half day trip to Himeji to check out Himeji Castle.

Day 9 - Kyoto to Tokyo
In the morning, take the shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo (3 hours) and spend the afternoon and evening in Tokyo.

Day 10 - Depart from Narita Airport
Depart Japan from Narita Airport.
For the above itinerary, we suggest that you purchase a 7-day Japan Rail Pass and use it from day 4 to 10.

Jr pass is used mainly to cover the longer, more expensive trips on shinkansen and limited express trains. Whether it is worth it to get the pass depends on where u are going.

Will be easier to advise if u post ur itinerary here.

10 Apr - Depart from Narita Airport
Depart Japan from Narita Airport.

This is the sample itinerary that I will most probably be following.

I'll spend 2 Apr to catch the cherry blossom at Tokyo.

Slight deviation from the itinerary would be, I am thinking of heading to Kyoto on the 3rd and come back to Tokyo on 7th morning. Thereafter, I'll fly back on 10th.

So it'll be 1 full day Tokyo, 5 days Kyoto (3 full days + 2 days commuting Tokyo - Kyoto), 2 full days Tokyo

The reason to come back on the 7th was to check out Harajuku on Sunday. But I am not sure whether it is worth it or not.

Based on ur itinerary, the expensive trips that u should be covering with jr pass will be the trips between tokyo and kyoto, and the day trip to nikko.
If possible, ur pass can also cover the trip from narita to tokyo or back

It’s my first time to japan (Tokyo) and visiting with Sister + mum
We r taking Ana so will reach in the morning

I understand USP is at Osaka however my Sister is a fan of Harry Potter so just want to check if this iternary is workable?

It’s 9 days 8 night

Day 1
Arrive -> Yokohama -> cup noodle museum, ramen museum
Day 2
Yokohama > Chinatown > Fujiko F Fujio Museum
Day 3 & 4
Yokohama > Osaka
Cover USP and dotonbori
Day 5&6
Osaka > Tokyo
Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, Shibuya pedestrian scramble, Ginza, Meiji Jingū shrine, Nakamise, Pokemon centre tokyo, Sanrio puroland
Day 7
One day trip to mt Fuji, pirate ship & Gotemba premium outlet (buying tickets in viator)
Day 8

Is it advisable to go both Skytree and tower? Or one will do? How should I plan my route or Any suggestion?
