guys, I'm really perplexed.

have yet to plan any concrete itinerary for my 1st to 10th Apr Japan trip.

will be arriving late night on 1st, hence will be heading to rest for the 1st night.

i will be spending the following 3 full days 2nd to 4th in Tokyo.

I'd booked a kimono session for myself and wife on 2nd at 10am at Asakusa.

But at the same time, I would like to head to Shinjuku Gyoen at 9am to take some nice photos before the place is flooded.

Hence, I will be changing the Kimono session to 12.

Thereafter, I'll visit Ueno Park. I'm not too sure where to go after this.

On 3rd, my friend invited me a trip to Lake Kawaguchiko. After the private train, we'll rent a car and do some side visits around the Kawaguchiko area.

Im contemplating visiting Mount Fuji, Hakone or Kawaguchiko.

At the same time, I bought the Sanrio Puroland pass, and unsure of how to plan the trip.

I was thinking if I were to go to Kawaguchiko on 3rd, I'll visit Mount Fuji and Sanrioland on the 4th. Am not sure whether is it feasible.

I'll be heading to Osaka on the 5th.

Will need help to plan on this too.

Please help!

Thanks.

Many places to visit in tokyo, such as odaiba, harajuku, akihabara, ginza. So it depends on ur interest and also where u have been to before

Mount fuji is near kawaguchiko, so if u going, it shld be on the same day. Will be a bit rush though if u are doing as a day trip

For 2 weeks, u can consider heading to hiroshima for a few days.
Or explore more or kansai region, such as going up to kinosaki onsen and amanohashidate. Or head down to the kumano region.
For children, i guess most of the things that interest them are probably in the cities. USJ, osaka aquarium, ramen museum etc. So u can probably spend more days in osaka

hi I have posted on another thread can you advice for my itinerary?

21th 6pm check in Osaka hotel and night free and easy
22th checked in to Osaka, Osaka Bay Area and Kita District
23th Minami District and Tennoji
24th Daytrip to Himeji + Kobe
35th Daytrip to Hiroshima + Miyajima
26th Osaka Aquarium, Kids Plaza Osaka
27th Osaka Castle and Expo City
28th Universal Studio
29th checked into Kyoto: Southern Higashiyama, Downtown and Fushimi-Inari
30th Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji and Daitoku-ji
1st Kurama, Kibune and Northern Higashiyama
2nd Daytrip to Nara
3rd free and easy in Kyoto
4th 3.35pm departure

and is there any recommended train pass for us to purchase in order to cover the above attractions?

and thwysg advice to stay in osaka for the whole duration. I am starting to lean towards this direction as well to minimize moving. but am wondering if I can still cover Kyoto attractions with day trips instead?
or I can just cover it one day?
thanks

yes, u can stay in osaka and make day trips to kyoto since it is only 30min away by train. kyoto is much quieter at night, so u can spend ur evenings/nights in osaka for shopping and eating. u can stay near umeda/osaka station for easy access to kyoto and other day trips like kobe and nara.

for hiroshima, i personally prefer staying at least a night. u can cover miyajima in a day, including taking the cable car up to mt misen, and also staying for sunset view of the torii gate. then use the second day for hiroshima city. can visit peace memorial, hiroshima castle, garden, and dinner at okonomiyaki village

get the JR Kansai Hiroshima area pass, mainly to cover the trip to hiroshima and back. and also cover the day u are going himeji.

Looks pretty good.

As mentioned earlier, the JR Kansai hiroshima area pass will be good. Use it to cover the trip to hiroshima, himeji, kobe, nara, and from osaka to kansai airport. Covers the ferry to miyajima as well

Traveling between osaka and kyoto, just get normal single trip ticket, or their equivalent of ezlink, ICOCA.

For kyoto, there is a 1-day bus pass that cost 500yen. Plan ur kyoto itinerary such that those attractions that requires bus are in a day.

hi, you have any idea if it's possible to do a self drive for the Kyoto, nara, kobe etc and the train only for the Hiroshima trip? is it recommended?
as I had done a self drive last year for my Hokkaido and Perth trip. so wondering if this is possible?

I wouldnt recommend driving in these places if u are just visiting the attractions that are accessible by public transport. Coz traffic and parking is going to be a problem, and u may end up walking quite a bit if u cant get carpark nearby.

HI All,

I will like to visit Japan for 16 Days.

I wonder if it is wise to Fly to Osaka and travel up to Tokyo follow by Hokkaido and flying back to Singapore from Hokkaido.

Will 16 Days be too rush?

Advice needed..
A bit rush to cover 3 places in 16 days, especially since hokkaido is huge. Better to just stick to 2 of the 3 places, or just do 16 days in Hokkaido

wow, 16 days in Hokkaido.. not sure if will get too bored not..

Not sure which season you’re heading there, but I hope you do know Hokkaido is actually very big. Came back 13D from there but not enough.

Else just stick to Honshu.

I am going in Mid August..

Plan is

Osaka -> Kyoto -> Hiroshima -> Tokyo -> Hokkaido -> Singapore
If it is ur first trip to these places, i will suggest either osaka + kyoto +hiroshima, or tokyo + hokkaido.
Too rush to do so many places

D1: Arrive airport late evening -> go Kyoto -> sleep
D2: Fushimi Inari -> Nishiki Market -> Yasaka Shrine -> Kodaiji Temple -> Kiyomizudera -> Gion
D3: Arashiyama -> Tenjyuri Temple -> Nijo Castle -> Pontocho
D4: Osaka Castle -> Shinsaibashi -> Dotonbori
