Rong rong time ago I had made a decision to get cars with warranty and maintenance provided only, instead of needing to find these random workshops and get chopped.

im fine with it. he usually does more things that's not listed and some minor works he will brush it off. whenever the bill gets too high, he will relook and see where he can give discount. ultimately, still running a business.
ive been to plenty of other places and they charge more . hence stuck with him

bear in mind, mine is a 15yr old car now. SJ plate with 4yrs coe left. the amount of work and maintenance is higher. my mileage is already at 300k. when i took over the car, i hit 60k very fast .. every week about 500km, those times i travelled to JB or go holiday to KL/Malacca, 1 month can hit 3000km

Even with the $80 Labor...price is very reasonable. Sometimes pat a bit more for quality and maintain a relationship. Trust itself is worth money.

A lot of times, workshop do what customer tell them to do.

Even if drive COE GE and the fella go spend a bomb on rims, workshop dun usually care, just do what customer says.

Normal car servicing for some unbranded 10,000 KM engine oil in JB is already RM300.

I think you kena carrot. If you want to save even more bring your own engine oil over. Their labour cost $30 to 50rm for oil change depending on workshop.

Before anyone think engine oil is expensive to buy actually is very cheap to buy in SG. Original honda or Toyota oil usually $60 to $70 range.

But as i say dont go JB just to do oil change. Spark plug, gearbox oil change, brake pad replacement, brake oil, coolant ..etc together.

In Sg labour cost alone easily $200 to $400 sgd. In msia definitely less than rm $200.

Aircon filter $30 self supply.

Add GST. Not the cheapest but maintaining a relationship is important.

exactly. trust is very important. hence the reason why i didnt mind him marking up a bit . actually his labour $80 still cheap.. i kena labour $150 from 2 different workshops for same thing. even worse told me need to change engine mount now cause got crack, else cannot drive out. i told him no and just did what needs to be done and went off.

went to another different workshop, which my dad goes for opinion and told me it's cracked but still can last if i dont push it till next servicing... my WS had the same opinion hence next servicing then changed

Spark park is easy to change.
Just need a socket tool and a wrench.

You will need a strong magnet too to lift the bolt out after unscrew

But for JB to charge cheap, pay cheap often expect cheap.
In SG, pay exp don't mean receive exp.
So ask properly what spark plugs they giving.

I think better to use a multimeter to test the plugs first before use.

Labour cost and rental much cheaper than SG. They charging cheap for labour cost not suprising. Garage and mechanics also a lot in JB.

Don't compare this way just because both have numbers. Car price compare with car price. Servicing cost vs servicing cost. Each had it own "market".

Replace and supply engine oil and filter $50 ? you sure bo ? Even cheap engine oil also cost $40 .. not including oil filter. Havent even include labour cost

Please read carefully. I said Labor to replace engine oil. But I am not surprised that you jumped and reacted w/o being detailed.
