Overall an average race. Got race atmosphere. Got those around me cheong quite fast. Kenna affected for the 1km and ran 4:39, my planned pace was 4:50-55, and cheong at the last km if there is still reserve. By 2 km onwards, slowed to around 4:50 -4:55. Performed as planned. my 10km is about there plus minus, not far off for along time.

Don't know why today my hr higher than usual. At one point, hit 162 red alert n I had to slow down

My HR redline all the way..LOL Actually 10km race is suppose to run at Threshold HR, which is very close to zone 5, but not there yet. If your Threshold HR is high, it is a good thing.

That guy is young, runs quite smoothly. I only remembered the 3rd or 4th guy struggling a lot. Probably ran at 5k pace for the first segment and struggling afterwards. 🤣

2nd guy was just encouraging other runners, found that quite nice.

I got the banana, but didn't end up going for hotdog/donut. I got my bag near the banana place and just took one banana and left afterwards

I am planning to go for the pocari sweat run, but it's on last day of August

Makes sense for Garmin Run to start at that time. It's a good prep leading into SCMS.

For the HM, you've to run slower than what you are running today. Need to build up your long runs to 16km or more, if you want to run HM.
Bro, last say of Aug on Saturday.
You hv something on?
Is it expensive n the distance?

Skechers results is out. Congrats to all in this thread who participated. For First timer, more exciting race in the future.

https://www.sportsplits.com/races/skechers-run-2024/events/1/

I read from Whatsapp group there's amny screwed up. The paper cups ran out, the runners were asked to shared from the bottle. This is unacceptable to me from an racing event organizer, especially we just been thru a pandemic. For me, I find the paper cup too small.
Also the Marshall, werer very disorganize near the finishing line. This I personally experience it. The bridge totally no marshall to direct the 4 Kmers to keep left. The whole bridge almost completely occupied by them. I had to repeatedly shout "keep left, thank you". Poor anticipation of returning runner crashing the new wave of flag off.

Yes bro, toward’s the finishing line and cross s the ridge, it becomes bottleneck with all the 4km runners.

According to my Garmin Watch

Easy Pace for me becomes Threshold Pace

Normally, most of my pace is at aerobic and threshold but surprisingly. And I am not running at fast pace.

I did have a 1.5Km warm up run to MRT before that.

No if liao, already registered for coming Garmim n SCMS HM liao
Have to start doing longer long runs in the morning 🤣
The feel from most is this time distance is short. Not as bad as last year, that one literally on the spot you now can't be 10km. This year is the feel is some what short, my watch show 9.52km.

Back to do route mapping to boost confidence for our gut feel. Indeed it is short. my guesss, actual distance, if you run in the middle all the way would be 9.65km.

By Mapometer and Mapmyrun

I ended with 9.59km, cut as many corners as possible. I mess up my u-turn a bit, so might have added a bit of distance.

$25 for 2.4km, $30 for 5.0km. I am going for 5.0km one. It's an evening run, so decided to go for it.

Yeah the cups were too small. The marshalls at the end were also not very good at directing.

What they could've done is let the walkers go off first. Runners take the timeslot after the walkers, so they can end the run better. This is actually what Bizad Charity Run did, they let fun run (5k) people go off first.

And it wouldn't be a problem because the 4k route is different and separate from the 10k route.

Last cup stand was bad, I finished my cup and passed the empty cup to the lady who isn't holding anything, she asked me to throw the cup at the dustbin.

I usually throw the cup at the dustbin but I was just too tired at that point.

threshold pace is fine if you're running >1 hr. It's a race after all, so it's normal to run at higher HR.

Interesting that all different brand GPS watches' readings are pretty close. ...within the margin of error coz everyone's line is different.
But not super surprising since that area is pretty open and not too forested ba.

My Venu SQ2 lousy one. No option for threshold HR zoning only can use max HR %. Got consider Coros before but dunno if better.
